defraging programs?

I think Windows by default defrags your hard drives when they are idle for a while... so watch out for that or disable it... I'm not sure where to disable it at this point, I'm sure someone does.

I've never hear of that . . . if its true than Windows does a horrible job on my machines. I usually defrag, using Windows' defragmenter, about once a week. More if I go through extensive software installations.

More likely to be the windows indexing service.
