Defrag Service

Ive just reformatted my system. I was following a documentation about what services to turn off if they are "useless" and I seemed to turn off the service to allow to defrag. It opens up but I click on the buttons and nothing happens. Was just wondering if anyone knew what services to turn back on.

Thanks

System restore back to before you made these changes, and please don't follow those lists, they typically wind up leading to posts asking for fixes 😉 (IMHO)

Well I turned off system restore :/ I dont bother using it anyways. Before I was using another defrag program to....defrag. So I dont know if I was disabling it before anyways :/ But if someone has a service name it would be appreciated. Thanks anyways bsobel.

Please please turn the default services back on, your not saving anythign and your just causing problems for yourself.

There isn't a defrag service, there a number of services that defrag (and lots of other things) need like rpc, eventing, etc. Clearly you turned one of them off. If you don't knoow what you turned off that broke the system, (no offense) but you have no business turning things off.

Re-read the document you quoted and do what you did in reverse.
