Defrag problems

whenever i try to defrag it gives me an error saying that Checkdisk is scheduled to run and cannot defrag and tells me that checkdisk will run next reboot. I reboot checkdisk doesnt appear. Ive got 3rd party defrag programs and i get same error. Help please
