Hi everybody!!

Some of you guys have encouraged me to start a new competition/contest based on the famous program SuperPi because of the great success CrystalMark 2004 competition had in the past?well, here it goes.
I promise I?ll update the scores daily or every two days so that you can check new scores.

The aim of this thread is to see how our different systems perform with this ?piece of cake? program, how ram memory timings and latency affect performance and how Intel and AMD micros perform against each other. Furthermore, It will be great to appreciate how Dual core processors perform against Single core ones.

RULES:

1) The tests to be run are the following: 1M, 2M, 4M, 8M, 16M & 32M. There is no need to run all tests if you don?t want or don?t have time, just choose which ones you want to run. However, running all tests is recommended.

2) You have to post a pic of every test result you want me to show in the results list in order to validate your score. Open CPU-Z twice, one showing the CPU settings and the other one showing the Memory settings, after finishing a SuperPi run but do not press the ?Ok? button when the ?Pi calculation is done? dialog box appears so that I can check your round timings. Take pictures similar to mines or even better, I mean, showing more useful info.

3) If a SuperPi test result pic does not show your CPU-Z settings at the same time it won?t be taken into account. Be careful!!

WARNING: Before posting any result, confirm your system is stable if you are doing OVERCLOCKING. Test stability with Prime95 6 hours blend test AT LEAST. 12 hours or more is better, more reliable)

You can download Prime95 v. 24.14 here: Prime95 24.14

You can download SuperPi 1.1e here: SuperPi 1.1e
You can download SuperPi SSE2 Patched here: SuperPi SSE2
You can download SuperPi SSE3 Patched here: SuperPi SSE3
You can download SuperPi Mod 1.4 here: SuperPi Mod 1.4

You can download CPU-Z 1.30 here: CPU-Z 1.30

My scores right now:

1M: 31s
2M: 1:12s
4M:Not yet
8M: 5:44s
16M:12:47s
32M: 27:31s

Let?s start the comp, guys!!!
Enjoy!!!

the reason i have everest for the last is that cpu-z can't seem to read the 7:10 divider on the dfi, memory timings aren't very useful without clockspeed

Technonut: Whoa  nice times on the 32m, i think your gona have to get the sub 23m for 32M test, with your OCed 4.4Ghz P4 670 .. hmm i wonder who has an FX57 to give you a run for your money :p

This was when I was running @ 4.3 GHz.... It will do for now until I get around to posting my 4.4GHz 32M time. (or until someone tops the 4.3GHz time ;) )

32M: 23m 42s (Patched)

it looks like the smaller ones respond to lower latency while the bigger ones respond to higher bandwith

Well I can tell you the particpation will be a lot less here, especially for the X2 crowd...Why am I going to waste my time running a non multithreaded app...It is going to scale linear to what my previous single core A64's was...the only difference does translate into what is my ram speed...bandwidth will buy you a great 32mb score..I tested it and going from 480ddr(166divider) to 533ddr(183 divider) with exact same ram timings and I was able to drop 26 seconds off of the score....raising the trcd to 4 had a bout an equal percentage of change...mmessing with the tras from 6-9 had minimal effect...same with trp...cas 3 had if I remember about equal of an effect as the trcd but remember both of those changes would effect the overall bandwidth also...

I wont be doing the test until they have a multithreaded...or perhaps just run 2 32mb at the same time...

yeah Duvie i forgot about the fact this doesn't truley test X2's .. shame maybe they might bring out a super pi for the x2's, but i dont see how that would work as this prog is for testing memory, so te second core will be irrelevant

It still scales well with cpu speed...raw processing power is necessary other a 400ddr system hear or there would be relatively equal. AMD scales really well cause the bandwuidth increases as cpu increase regardless of memory speed alone...

I hear rumors there is a multithreaded version...can someone confim this???

Don't you think 1.680v is too high for your A64 x2 4400+...? You'll burn it very quickly...be careful...

1. ocz vx pc4000

2. 3.2v

3. it only loads at 42c, so im not too worried...hehe anyways i dont run it that high daily, only wanted to test for max prime stability for the chip. i run it daily at 2805 with 1.595v (set in bios) which displays as the 1.55v you see in programs like smartguardian.

Scores up-to-date guys!!
Sorry to hear that Duvie...I'll check if a multithreaded SuperPi exists or not...
Chinkgai: Ok..great chip..great OC!!

Here are some times running @ my 24/7 4.4GHz.......

1M: 26s

2M: 1m 2s

4M: 2m 14s

16M: 11m 2s

32M: 23m 36s

I can run P95 stable over 4.5GHz, but the increased VCore and knocked-down RAM timings are not worth it IMO... 4.4GHz with moderate VCore, and the RAM timings as tight as the mobo will allow is enough for my daily use.... ;)
