In your opinion, what would you define as pretty?

Foe example, a "pretty" girl.

What qualifies her as pretty?

Is the word "pretty" another way of saying "hot"? (ie, a hot looking girl?)

 
to me...

hot = looking at someone ang thinking WOWZA. one does not have to be pretty to be hot. Most often they are, but one can be hot and not really pretty.
attractive = someone who makes you look twice. again, pretty is not a necessity.
pretty = pleasing to the eye, no major faults. Not always hot or attractive.
beautiful = no flaws. and even though they might not make you go WOWZA or look twice, the more you look at them, the more you realize how flawless they are.

Cute = friend that will never score with
Pretty = term used to not hurt a child's feelings
BLEH = paperbag please
 
you can use the definition that the guy above used but what one person finds pretty another may find ugly or hot.

pretty is only a word that i would use to be "nice". as in "Oh, that's a pretty shirt".
beautiful to me is equal to intriguing....
someone who makes me look a few seconds longer.
