Do the mages automatically cast spells? I have 20 of them and they don't appear to do anything

you have to press those buttons under them and use them. one is explosion and the other is instant death. a blue one will appear and thats instant convert. once you get around80 or so mages, its nearly impossible to run out of manna, they rechagre so fast that you cant even use it fast enough. at that point, you are essentially invincible.

castle is so strong, its pointless. lol

Once I realized the point of the mages I got there pretty quickly too. I kept my numbers nice and round:

200,000 castle strength
100 craftsmen (although once you reach about 35-50 you should be able to rebuild anything)
100 mages (once you get to about 35 you can convert an army really fast)
400 archers (once I got 100 I could fend off anything; 400 makes the area out front look like the killing fields now - the castle might be touched only 3 or 4 times a round now.)

How the fvck do I make an archer? I drop the guys in my bulding, and all they do is show up asa sillhouette underneath the health bar. WTF good are they?

You have to buy the archery range first.
Once you do there will be a little red flag on one of your towers. Click it to train an archer... each archer (or any other guy you train) costs one of the guys you converted.

I did biuld it. Clicking on the flag was less than intuitive, I guess.

Nope. That's it. THey just come a little faster and in greater numbers over time, but by then you'll have your forces built up so tough it doesn't matter.

OK WTF. I had a bunch of archers and mages and my castle maxed out. I saved my game, the next level started and everyone was gone. So i quit and i went back to my saved game and everything was freaking gone, i only had my money left.
