you start by clicking on the attackers and tossing them in the air to kill them
after a few levels you can get a temple and capture and convert them by dropping them in your castle
then you can save up for a mana pool and get mages and convert them as they run in
then you can get an archery range and load up on archers to kill the attackers
you can also get builders to repair etc...
Right now I have 400 archers defending my keep. The game runs on auto-pilot as 400 is overkill...

fun for a few levels, then boring. and it starts to take away your archers, and wizards for no reason. no one was even making it to my castle, but hordes of my units were somehow being killed.
Yea..mine too. Then i got points taken off for that upkeep thing.
Ever since I started playing that game (around 4ish yesterday)...my internet's been acting funky. I don't wanna be like.."this game killed my internet"...but I'm gonna say it anyway.
THIS GAME KILLED MY INTERNET (well, just AIM).

I didn't even add archers until I had 30 mages. You use them to store up a large number of converts and if the enemy gets too close, you use the "#2" spell to blow them up...
I purposely have not upgraded my walls one bit and am still going at level 31. I just let it run in the background and 9/10 I complete the level... The only reason I don't sometimes is that the suicide bombers do about 999 damage to my 1000HP castle. If a second one hits before the damage is repaired it's game over...
I've been going about building my army the wrong way. So the wizards are the way to go? I've been dropping them in the castle and it takes forever that way. I've still managed pretty well though. About level 25 with 115 archers, 50 builders and 1 magician with a castle strength of about 135,000. They can pretty much hit me with bombs non-stop and I'm still fine. Does it ever get to be any tougher with even BIGGER dudes or are these large stickmen and bomb guys as menacing as it gets?

that's as menacing as it gets. FYI - with enough mages, you can convert 100 or more guys in one round... There are any numbers of ways to beat this game.
You could do nothing but mages and just blow everything up
....or just build huge walls and have a lot of builders
...or get enough archers to kill everything
If you have a bit of everything, you will be invincible in no time. I haven't reinforced my walls at all just to keep it kind of interesting...
I guess I was taking the brute strength route then with archers and builders. However, after just one additional round since my last post I now have 50 mages and 25 additional archers. So mages are definitely the way to go if you want to build an army quickly.
