Defector from that other forum

The new owners changed the format of site and it is more chaotic than a Rorschach Test. I'm too old to embrace the steep learning curve, and besides, have often referred to and quoted articles from this fine site when dealing with issues "over there." Might as well give back a little to the source.

Brand X has had two changes in the last year already, violating the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it," principle. It's more than my poor ticker can handle. I think they (successfully) just wanted to weed some of us old guys outta there.

Same here. I used to mostly hang out there, but when they went to the "Forumz" thingy and rearranged everything I just couldn't take it. (Not that I particularly care for our recent changes here, but what's a guy gonna do?)

I dunno, now. I saw your pic on Shadowknight's thread. Anyone with "floss" in their name, and a hole in their wetsuit is a concern. Richard Gere incognito? Yikes!

I haven't posted here in years. I was lucky to be able to find my old profile, I thought at first someone else was using my username. I've gotta agree that Brand X has gone to hell, after way too much time fiddling with their new forums I can't get it right, and I'm too old for that too. They will never be able to return to their roots as a hardware site, they are too far gone now. I'm not particularly happy with the look of this forum these days either, but at least there is no big red blotches all over the place hurting my eyes.

Besides, over at Brand X, it's hard to find a good hardware review these days, I been reading all of my reviews from here with the excellent RSS feed provided.

So I guess I'll hang out here for a while and see how it goes, I'll see you around the forums.
