Default advanced search settings broken - set to Descending not showing all threads

I normally check threads I've posted in my searching for my handle as Author in Advanced Search. It was working perfectly earlier this evening. Now I just searched and I get maybe two per day, for some days. I also noticed that the categories to search have been alphabetized, is this related?

Update: eplebnista found a workaround. I guess when the Forum Categories* menu got alphabetized the search engine's defaults got changed. The workaround however still doesn't show all threads.

Update 2: It's getting worse and worse :(

It appears that the search is not listing in order by date again.

Seems like the same Search issue that occurred a month or 2 ago.....more recent posted to threads not showing up in Search by Author

I didn't scroll down far enough to catch that this time. :beer: Some of the most recent postings are way down at the bottom of the search results page.:confused:

It appears that if you choose descending instead of ascending on the order by topic ratings setting, the search results show up correctly.

thx!!!!!!!! that worked.

I wonder why cant Anadtech have these options on the main forums page like some other boards do (ie: Mazda3forums.com):

*sigh* Still doesn't work for me, topics with new replies are still scattered throughout the search results. :(

Well, it sorta works. :D Works better, but the Results still seem to be ignoring very recent Posts. :shrug;

I can't take full credit because I think Zuni mentioned the workaround in a thread on this same problem the last time this happened and I just happened to vaguely remember it. :)

Well, it worked once for me, now things are borked again whether Descending is selected or not.

That is weird. Descending is still working for me. I have used it several times during the night with no major problems (except as mentioned above, some posts are still MIA, but at least the dates are in order). :shrug;

This thread doesn't show up for me at all in my own search results set to Descending.

Yeah...missing a lot of threads when searching my name...been like this for a week or so? It's lame. There should be a better way to track my postings besides searching for my own name all the time anyways.

i limit my search to 1 day ... it works as a 'fix' to find all my recent posts
- are PMs messed up also?

Is FuseTalk "free" - or do they pay ATF to test it for them?
:confused:

Note that the Advanced Seach page says "Order by topic rating", NOT by date. If that's really what it's doing, it seems to me the results will be pretty jumbled. IMO, it should sort by date.

Bump

Search is still messed up/missing threads. Both on ascending and descending. What changed in the past month to mess up the search?
