deep format hdd

How can I do that really deep format of an hdd with w2k on it?

I use a program called aefdisk from hotfiles.com. It is mostly DOS format, but you can figure it out. Had to use this to get rid of Grub on a linux install and used it since. Hope this helps. 🙂

Easy boot with dos system floppy and run LLF from there
But why would you want to in the first place fdisk and normal format is fine only do LLF to clear sensitive data

There is an option in some Award bios'es to do a low level format.

Low level formating can cause more problems then it fixes... Why do you think you need to LLF?

i d/led the aefdisk.. i was neffing around here earlier today and I found that program to be highly useful, no need to do a llf unless you want to shred all your data so it will never be found again.

do aefdisk, delete all the partitions on your hd, reboot... fdisk in a fat32 and get to going... simple

Thanks for the help men, I formatted,reinstalled and all is good.
By the way, I found the best way to use w2k/pro: 1:install it
2: add programs
3:tweak your modem
4:let it run and enjoy it,goin' through 4 million files to save 15 seconds on start-up is just not worth it.
