Uh, nationalism (or stateism) is riding the bandwagon.

nice job at bringing politics into this

do you even know what that means?

riding the bandwagon is rooting for a team because it is doing well even though you did not particularly care for it before

a. they are a texas team, and like the spurs, I reside in texas
b. Tim Duncan is a humble player and I resepct that
c. Pistons fans

Does every person that lives in Texas jump bandwagons when it comes to NBA teams?

It's called Texas pride. It's not riding the bandwagon.

edit: Moo.

I'm not trying to be critical. It just seems that people from Texas don't have a team that they love. They have a team that they prefer. If their team goes out, then they root for a different team from Texas.

There is something to be said for sticking with your team.

It's like the Mets fan rooting for the Yankees when the Mets bow out.

You can call it Texas pride, but it sure stinks of bandwagon jumping to me.

It doesn't necessarily mean you're a fan of the team, it just means you're rooting for the team from the state. I don't dislike the Pistons, I'd rather the Spurs win b/c I'm from Texas. :p

I didn't bring it in, I am merely drawing it out. Riding the bandwagon is going along with the crowd for the sake of being included. Nationalism is the same principle.

Exactly. My guess is that most Mavs/Rockets fans don't give a crap about the Spurs. But when the Spurs do well and the Mavs/Rockets are out of it, they want the Spurs to win because they are based in Texas.

What have Pistons fans done to make you so upset?

Eagles fans are insufferable. They talk like the Eagles are God's gift to football. Meanwhile they have never won a Super Bowl.

its all about style and generations of teams. this current team was hand picked and assembled by a MASTER!!! Its a unique DEEE-TROIT team and hopefully they will stay together for a LONG time. As teams change, so does the organization.

I'm a Piston fan and I've never seen a COMPLETE team like this in the NBA. Where everyone on the team is a crucial part and they get along like brother. Its a pretty thing to watch really.

Plus how about 4 turnovers in game 4 ( Finals record btw, not even a Jordan teamed could do that!!), then in Game 6 they had just 5 turnovers!!!!!!!

I don't care what you say. Thats execution and thats players listening to coach Brown.

Deeee-Troit get'r done because they play the game the right way and don't fold under pressure.

See that's where you're wrong. I alway root for all the Texas teams from the get go. I doubt Mets fans were rooting for the Yanks on opening day.

Texas > * :p

Just because you don't understand it, doesn't mean you gotta bag on it.

I'm not ragging on anything. I'm just wondering why people don't just pick a team and stick with them.

your such a n00b. if you knew anything about the team and basketball itself then you'd know Big Ben's job isn't to score. He is a defensive player primarily! Known for blocking shots, stealing the ball, rebounding, toughness in general. The 6-10 points sometimes even more is just a bonus.

it's convenient for me that i like two teams that has a star nicknamed Big Ben (D-twa and the Steelers), less stuff to remember.

and no, i didn't jump on the piston bandwagon. i grew up in western pa (which doesn't have a basketball team) and i moved to ann arbor a few years ago.

What did Ben Wallace do to the Pacers players?
