The version of Nero I have (5.5) makes no mention of DVD. What version do I need?

I got the Cendyne 4x rewritable that actually installs as a Pioneer.

that helped 😛

I think the software needs to support DVD creating methods. Like EZ CD creator 5 didn't, but now they have EZ CD/DVD Creator 6.

Just google it?

You can't just plop MPG files onto a DVD.
While I think there MAY be programs which convert them, AFAIK you have to demux the audio, convert the bitrate to DVD standard, and make sure the video is framed correctly. Then you have to author the disc.

Check http://www.doom9.org and see if there's some program that can do it automagically for you. You sure as hell don't want to do it by yourself, trust me.

Upgrade to the latest verson of Nero.

When you make a compilation, there should be a drop down menu to select between DVD and CD.

Actually you can. My DVD player I just bought from Wal-Mart (I can check the brand if you want) will play a mpg file on a cd.
