I got an email from Paypal today telling me that I now have a dedicated customer support phone number available to me because of the amount I use the service.

Anyone else get this? I thought it was a scam at first, but I logged into my account and see the number prominently displayed on the left menu bar.

I've never needed to call Paypal, but think it is cool they seem to be trying to improve customer service.

Doesn't surprise me. With their services doing some relatively shady shit lately due to legal complaints (they're based in my city of residence so local news loves to cover them like some pop celebrity) and BBB reputation legitimacy in question they have probably started quite a few PR-based campaigns to try and keep bigger customers.

I still love the fact that if you buy something and the seller cannot prove if they sent it or not, and paypal cannot determine what shipping method should have been used, they'll jack the funds out of the seller's account and sit on it for 30 days, then come to a no-fault ruling where they cannot determine who should get the money, and then they keep it for themselves. Hilarious business antics, but I have to give them credit for being able to steal from people in such an efficient way.

I still use paypal for quite a few things since many smaller businesses don't accept credit cards, but I always purchase with a credit card through paypal to make sure I have an actual means of disputing a charge, as paypal have shown through history to be a bunch of thieves.

You live in Omaha?

I got the same email.

I wonder what the qualifications were?

I know I spend too much money online but that just reinforces it
