Okay, so a bunch of friends and I have been looking at renting a dedicated server from theplanet.com to host several CS servers.

Does anyone here have any experience with CS Servers and their resource usage?

I would think I could run at least 5 20 man servers on Dual 2.8 Xeons..but the 1gb of ram might be the bottleneck.

How much bandwidth does a 20 man server take up?...would 2TB be enough for 5 servers under average load. IE full during the peak hours...mid-afternoon until early morning.
 
Okay, well i've done my research and with the help of DeviousTrap I am purchasing a Dual AMD Opteron 242 CPU (1.6GHZ), 80GB Hard Drive, 1GB Ram server 🙂 with 1200gb of BW, with a 10mbps Full Duplex Connection. Our pings are great, and we plan on running 5-6 20 Man CS Servers. Once it gets up and running, i'll be sure to post the IP's so everyone can enjoy 🙂.

Mostly for fun 🙂 If the servers get popular we might open up payslots for people.

We just upgraded our connection to 100mbps now, so I'm hoping to get 10 servers out of this box 😀

Yeah I know, I didn't vote for the 100mbps port...but the rest of friends did.

We will be doing a little webhosting with it...but I dont think it's enough to merrit a 100mbps connection.
