decrease ping times with cable?

i see plenty of performance tweaks geared towards sustained throughput. But i don't really care about throughput. 100+ kB/s is more than good enough for me.

i wan't better pings. my pings suck. im pinging barely better than with my modem connection. i play rogue spear, so i don't know my exact numbers, but i usually get average 1 green bar.

So, my point is.. Gimme ping tweaks.

SpeedGuide.net is probably the place you want to go. These guys are nuts about their net connections, and know more tweaks then most of us here know about.
