Currently using a stand-in for my graphic needs. The GPU being used is so aweful, I refuse to mention it by name, but it allows me to at least see the display.
I am in need of a one card solution for my graphic needs. I have a ASUS P5E with Q6600 2.4Ghz CPU. Since I have PCIe-2.0 bus, the choices are many. So I needed to narrow down the field. My findings:
Intel based chipset X38 - can't use SLI.
DAAMIT Crossfire -- I understand it doesn't always work out of the box.
Limited Funds -- Whatever the stimulus package gives me!
Desires:
A decent PCI-e 2.0 GPU that will last for a good while,
currently have 20" Dell CRT, but looking to upgrade to 22" LCD,
Not opposed to an X2 style adapter
Suggestions?
In addition, would someone explain to me the companies that are key partners to DAMMIT such as sapphire and Visiontek? What I'd like to come to understand is their position in terms of where their products fall. I understand DAMMIT is the 1st tier -- the OEM, but where do the others come in?
