Decisions Decisions on 875P?

Man, I can't make up my mind. What 875P is the best? Stable, good customer support, and fast for extreme gaming.
I'm stuck on the Abit IC7-G, the Gigabyte GA-8KNXP non Ultra, the Asus P4C800, or the MSI Neo-FIS2R.
Anyone who's using any of these boards, will you help me decide?

I got the ABIT IC7 and I love it. It's not too expensive and has all the stuff I want. The layout of the board is the best I've had, every connector is in the right place. Only negative thing I can find is the CPU temp it reports seems a little high, but I don't really mind since I'm not checking temps all the time. My board came with broken DIMM clips so I PMed the ABIT rep on their forums and it took 30 minutes to get a reply. Their customer service is excellent, especially compared to other motherboard companies.

I'd go for the ABIT or the Gigabyte. The Asus is too expensive and lacks Intel RAID and CSA Gigabit LAN. MSI might be alright, but their recent boards haven't been that great...

If you remember, I was in the same boat as you, but finally decided on the Abit. Great perfomance, $3o bucks cheaper than 8KNXP. I won't have to buy round cables, and it comes with the Seriallel 2. Getting the Abit is literally saving me 60 bucks on things.

Seems like I am very much having the same feeling with you guys... can't make up my mind... Abit IC7-G or MSI 875P Neo-FIS2R??

However, I read many posts in abit forum... people are having problem with the BIOS....

Hi all,

Just wanted to throw my 2 cents in here. I just received my MSI 875p Neo FIS2R a few days ago it has been amazing thus far. I have had zero problems with this board including the install of my Corsair Twinx512-3200llpt RAM at the regular SPD speeds, which other people have had problems with. Even though I am fairly new at overclocking I have already been able to get my 3.0Ghz up over 3.3Ghz with no problems. On that note, the CoreCenter utility that MSI includes with the board is fantastic. I really like the layout of this board as well.

As for the BIOS, I know some people have had problems with version 1.1 and 1.2 but version 1.3 is out now and I havent heard of any problems with that. I personally had an early version of the board with BIOS 1.0 so I had no problems with that either.

Ok hope some of that information helps, I'll be posting my impressions of this board in the official MSI 875p thread later on today. In the meantime if anyone has some questions, feel free to ask.

Thank's. I was a little worried about my Corsair TwinX because of all the horror stories, I feel a little better now.

Thanks 🙂 , just want to confirm from what I read from the net:

V1.0 oc working but not promise RAID config.
V1.1 oc not working
V1.2 oc not working

How about V1.32???

I actually havent downloaded version 1.3 yet so I dont know how it works. Yes, overclocking works perfectly with v 1.0 but I'm not sure about if the RAID works or not since I only have 1- 20GB hard drive lol. In the near future I'll download version 1.3, test the overclocking and report back here.

I would get the Abit board since it just seems so well made and can overclock like crazy! Now whether you want the IG7-G or standard is up to you depending on which feature sets you want.
