I think the price is slightly jacked due to the amount of goods w/ it. HOwever, if it were priced at $39.99 it would sound better.

Wally World has a Dremel 200 for $39 that's multi speed....and a black&decker for $29...but I won't touch the B&D made goods anymore.

I don't really want to wait on AMAZON unfortunately, but I can maybe make by with what I'm doing w/ just a file.

They are, the craftsman rotaries are for the most part just contracted through dremel.

I can't remember if their engraving tool and cordless one are through dremel or not though.

Why would you use a dremel for bolt cutting? A 4" grinder with a cut off wheel will zip right through 5/8" bolts, and they cost about the same.

This, a dremel is for a hobbyist. I have Bosch rotozip, but a wheel grinder has even more balls. A Metabo grinder is on my craiglist want list.

My multispeed dremel has never let me down. Got a diamond cutter and it works on everything.

I do alot of woodwork (desks, cabinets). Not sure why I haven't bought one before, it will be great for little things like that. Especially w/ my expected computer case modding :D

I'd say a grinder, while a very versatile tool, is not for the every day person.

I have a Craftsman multi-speed "rotary tool" that is a re-branded Dremel. It's served me well for about 20 years. I picked up a nice Dremel kit last fall at a yard sale. Came with tons of accessories and tools. IIRC, I paid $20 for it. Many of the parts hadn't been out of their original packaging.
I have a Roto-Zip kit that my wife bought me for x-mas many years ago. Came with lots of attchements including a grinding/cutting head. I don't use it often, but it does a good job for some projects.

I also have a Dewalt 4" angle-head grinder. It's been used and abused...and still keeps going. I have grinding disks, wire wheels and cutting disks for it.

I saw a Milwaukee porta-band for sale on Craigslist...I suspect it's hot though, (big list of tools...all priced CHEAP) so I didn't email the guy...but damn...I'd LOVE to have one.

If you're cutting more than a few, get a grinder with a cutoff wheel.

If you're only cutting a couple, get a hacksaw.

If he's only doing this a few times, you can get a 4" grinder from harbor freight for under $20.

I worked in a small factory and we used these. They would only last about 100-150 hours, but they were cheap enough that we'd just buy a new batch every week.

Why do you have multiple bolts in the engine bay that need cutting? rust belt or something?

I have one bolt that could not come off (The belt tensioner)

it was covering a bolt on the timing chain so it had to come off. Just sawed the damn thing off pretty easily with the rotary tool I had in my OP.

Nice tool to have in a jam, I don't know how you can do some things w/out it
