Decent Non LCD Projector?

First off, I will be searching on the internet for projectors, but if someone could help me out somewhat quickly.

I was installing this Neotek virtual dissection lab at one of our schools.

Its basically a pair of LCD glasses that flicker quickly and allow you to view a 3d image on a CRT monitor. It doesn't work with LCD.

They want it hooked to a projector as well, and all they have for projectors are NEC vt48 projectors, which are LCD projectors.

The system calls for a non LCD projector. The principle stated that he would like to stay in the 1500-2k range as far as price goes.

Thank you.

If a DLP projector will work there's the Optoma HD70 or Mitsubishi HD1000u for under $900.
I have the Mits and am very happy with it.

But since the Neotek works with a crt monitor you may need a crt projector

Hmmm... looking at the page, it does seem like DLP would work?

How is this going to be viewed? Unless it's going to be in a darkened room, you'd probably want to look for a business / conference room oriented projector since those would tend to be brighter. They would also tend to be 4:3 aspect ratio which would probably be more suited to this task.

There are some general recommendations here for popular conference room units to look at here (LCD units included here as well as other types)
