I think the pm to staples and then $30 will more likely work.
But receiptwise, both should work fine.

If you are referring to AMEX, that's all depends on the CSR that you get on random. Some are less "demanding".

And as for Staples B&M, that's all a 50/50 call. I have not had a mishaps at the store with PM using webprintout.
