I am looking for a tablet in the range of 10" for my dad. I was thinking of 7", but I don't thinks his eyes would be very happy with me. I saw a Lenovo on Amazon:

Lenovo Ideatab S6000 10.1-Inch 16GB Tablet (Black)

Is this any good for the price? It does not have to be a cutting edge, ipad killer. It is basically just a toy for him to play with. He loves gadgets and technology.

From what I can tell, that tablet is cheap because its a quad core Cortex A7, and a 1280x800 resolution screen. It may be cheap, but that CPU is a turd. :colbert:

Galaxy Tab 2

As a former owner of a Tab 2, no. The Tab 3s are better, but not by much. 2011 specs with 2013 pricing.

If you're OK with used, there's several Nexus 10s for sale on Swappa well under the 399 list price from Google Play.

There's also a slew of Nexus 7 2012 models as people chuck them for the new 2013 model, but you said you didn't want to go with a 7in due to his eyes. Should be noted though that the PPI is high enough on some 7-9in tablets that they'll actually be easier to read than a low PPI 10in tablet.

It's stupid easy to hack a nook hd/+ and get cm10.1 on it with a bootable sd card.

Thanks for the replies guys. I decided on the Nook. I went to Bestbuy to check out it out, and I was pleasantly surprised by the screen. To me it was much clearer than the Kindle screen. It was also pretty snappy. I know there is better out there, but I think it will be perfect for him.

Thanks again!
