[Deceased] Win 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1 $69.99 AC

Hm, I don't know, RossMAN.

I think 10's supposed to be a free upgrade for any version of Windows, including XP.

If I'm looking for the cheapest and legit way to get Windows 10 - is this it?

If you don't already have a PC with Win7 SP1 or newer, then I would say, "yes".

I recall when Win7 was released, MS offered retail upgrade pre-orders for 1/2 price. Of course, those are "upgrade" versions, and if you want to be fully legit, you needed to have prior OSes to upgrade from. These are OEM, full, standalone licenses. So that's why I say "yes".

supposedly win 10 will be a free upgrade for any version so I am wondering if just installing seven without a serial as a trial will allow upgrading.

Supposedly pirated versions will be allowed free upgrade as well for a limited time which is crazy.

Does that include OEM like Dell, Lenovo, Acer, etc.?

Pulled the trigger on this one... couldn't control myself... didn't really need it, got used to Mint, but oh well... I guess I will use this for the upgrade to 10 experience, get myself used to the impending doom.
