I've been mixing my coffee the same way for 6 years. The only difference over the past two weeks has been decaf instead of caf.

The decaf I get on occasion is indistinguishable from the normal coffee I get regularly....

Same here. Kirkland brand decaf tastes the same as the regular. No difference whatsoever.

but what's the point? If you're not getting the caffeine, you might as well have something tasty like hot chocolate.

Because hot chocolate has almost as much caffeine? As for the Kirkland brand your right, the regular tastes just as bad as the decaf.

Kirkland signature is the exact same as the star bucks costco also sells.

don't be knocking kirkland signature. it's good stuff.

I'm sure it's not "the exact same" as the Starbucks coffee.

For one, it isn't.

Are you serious? What kind of coffee did you have? I drink decaf half the time, and it's always good.

And I'm a coffee FANATIC.

Seattle's Best from a Seattle's Best coffee shop.

I hate Seattle's best. I had to drink it almost exclusively for 4 months while I was doing some training in GA, but fortunately they opened a new Starbucks soon after I arrived.

Meh...Mountain Dew tastes like goat piss.
Do you really want to try the "caffeine free" version?

depends on the quality
if its the same price as the regular, it means it was made from cheaper beans. decafination process costs money. the more flavor they preserve the more cost. pay more or suffer

I think you are the only person on the Internet that has ever put those words into print.

Oh, and haha! You know what goat piss tastes like!

I love the taste of Mountain Dew... the cold refreshing tingle of that first sip. Ohhh, so good that I want one right now! ... but I musn't! I do not drink caffeine and that wanna-be Mountain Dew from Coke tastes like ass (because it's also got Aspartame in it as well as having no caffeine).

Starbucks owns Seattle's Best Coffee (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seattle%27s_Best_Coffee)

The beans are roasted at the same facility in Washington.

Alton has a good explanation as to why decaf can taste bad:

Check out 8:25 on this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jEcMz4V7wuY

Pretty much it costs more to process the caffeine out of coffee so if you are wanting defac, you're going to have to pay more for it in order to get a good cup.

Cool. Wow, this thread is already a week old. Seems like only yesterday I was drinking ass coffee that I paid for in ass pennies.

I grind my own coffee beans and started using a French Roast decaf bean. My husband is a big coffee drinker...he hasn't noticed the switch yet.
