Just because someone claims its illegal in NJ doesn't "mean" its illegal either. I saw nothing searching google, unless someone provides a link to said law....shens.

Right, which is why I questioned it when he posted it too. I'm not claiming it's illegal, just saying that dandruff is wrong to say it's "definitely phony because on many cars like porsche and such there is an option for "model badge delete"". Whether you can buy it off the lot like that is irrelevant to whether it's actually legal.

I'm deep into the NJ vehicle code(at least 30 pages)....so far, I see they have an "extreme" facination wth License plates. Prolly not a good sign LOL.

I'm thinking about debadging my car after I give it a couple mods, in order to give it a more sleek, cleaner look.

I drive a 2002 BMW 325.

The only problem is that I'm thinking some people are going to be under the impression that I did it because I'm ashamed of my car, "you just want people to think you have a 330".

Is that what you guys would think if you saw that the emblem was removed? What would go into your heads?

Absolutely, that's what I think.

I also think it's exceptionally lame putting M badges on a lesser BMW. Oh, and it's idiotic to put an M badge on any Mazda...and yes, I have seen people do that.

The M badge means jack. Most people who stick M badges on to non M BMW don't bother with the powerhood on the bonnet and definately don't do the side M parts on the grill. It would be pointless sticking an M badge on a non M car. ANY car guy will know this...

I've seen a few debadged M cars though, but in any case the driver doesn't car as he has the M car!

Personally, I automatically assume a debadged car is the lowest trim of the model, even if in reality it is not.

Most people have the same type of thinking as I do, so yeah, to answer your question, most people will think you are embarrassed about your own car.

But do whatever make you happy, fvck what everbody else thinks.

typically it makes them cleaner looking. as far as someone thinking its a lesser model who cares what others think. people hate because they are jealous usually.
