I really enjoyed it, beat it last night. I liked it better than the recent Monkey Island games. It's funny without being random and rediculous. The puzzles actually make sense.
I only had trouble with two creatures. One near the end that killed me 3-4 times before I just used all the types potions I had and special attacked until it died.
The other was a floating eyeball that one-shotted me because I went too far ahead.
Here's some tips:
Don't worry about "finding" the orphans, they appear in the regular course of play.
Money doesn't mean a whole lot as the game usually gives you better weapons than you can buy, and I had a few million at the end.
"Broken Outhouses" in dungeons aren't warp points, only save points, and they can't be "fixed".
If you get killed easily, you're going somewhere you're not supposed to be.![]()
Good to know. I'm way at the beginning still.
Question though:
How do I get the anvils down the well? I have two in my inventory. (I know I have to toss them in there to distract the farmer to get the cherries to dye the horns to get across the bridge to the Demon cave)
Answer:
I use an X360 controller. The "Y" button uses an item on the targeted object, and you select the anvil from the inventory to use on the well. Not sure how you do it with a keyboard, sorry. The "Y" button uses an item on an object and the "A" button just interacts with the object.

Shank is next on my list.
Honestly, I seem to find MUCH more enjoyment out of these little $15ish titles released from smaller studios than the big budget releases it seems. Way more heart, more fun, more personality in them it seems. These kinds of titles will be getting more and more of my money than blockbuster releases from here on out.
Question guys, is this game kid friendly? Will 6-8 year-olds (most likely just watching, not necessarily playing) enjoy it and get the jokes? These are kids who laughed their ass off watching me playing Monkey Island games (and sometimes helped solving the puzzles with their 'out of the box' thinking).
I found out that it's rated for Teen but I wonder if it's just because of the cartoon people killing each other or if there's more to it than just that (e.g. mature humor, super dark storyline, etc).
Kinda bums me that there's no demo for this game... although I can easily just get the demo on a console, but I'm kinda interested in the PC-based control mechanics. Shank has a demo though.
It also seems that the PC is fairly behind the console as the consoles have a second Deathspank game available.
Cronos: I played some more the other night. There was SOME "questionable" language (damn, bastard) in some of the convos. But its not that "angry" if you know what I mean. Its just said in "DeathSpank-esque" tone.
Side note: I think I'm stuck again. I just took care of the monks by the bell for Rich Cabin, and I'm now venturing west towards the ogres. WTH... the Ogres kick my butt in like 1 hit. Driving me mad.
