Agreed, This is why I say our country gets the government it deserves. Maybe if more people were informed, gave a damn, and knew who they were voting for we wouldn't have tax cheats running the IRS or people spending state money for there own little getaways.

They must vote for me or watch the country die. Their choice.

Thanks Dave.......you gave me the best laugh I've had all day.

Go ahead, keep voting for great Americans like Bush, McCain, Palin

What kind if real American installs equipment to spy on telco consumers? You're one of the worst people alive today Dave.

Oh so what? If you haven't tuned this stuff out by now I don't know how much hope there is for you. My mother does this too - constantly whining about what Limbaugh said, or what Hannity said, or what some random dude at the supermarket had on his bumper sticker. Fricken annoying. Who gives a flying fuck what any of these people say? If you want to find thoughtful commentary, you can. If you want to bitch and moan about all the urine in your Cheerios you can do that too.

I count myself among those most critical of the government; but these dramatic charactarizations of D.C. as a "plague" and "corporate sponsored" are just a complete waste of time. Some level of corruption will always be there. Deal with it.

I agree that there's too much partisanship today, but it's not really a big concern. Look at partisanship back at the turn of the century, it was just as bad if not worse. You will see moderation of partisanship as the population tolerates less and less partisan B.S.

The financial legislation that was "rushed" through stabilized the markets with remarkable effectiveness. The fact that the government "got their money back" is serendipidous. Is the government going to get its money back on "Cash for Clunkers"? Or any other stimulus, or stabilizing efforts?

Seriously, this crap reminds of that OT thread about non-smokers who take "smoke breaks" and just go stand outside. People that are that concerned about what other people get and whether they get their share down to the last dime are pretty miserable to be around.

The middle class is actually growing if you can look beyond your own backyard:

In February 2009, the Economist magazine announced that over half the world's population now belongs to the middle class, as a result of rapid growth in emerging countries.
