Why in the f@#$ can't I just buy the tickets for the normal price $17 at the venue? Why tell everyone the tickets are just $17? Why must I pay an additional $20.02 for tickets that only cost $34?

F@#$ you ticketmaster.

To top it off, ticketmaster site always crashes whenever there's a high demand show (like a plaoff game, etc).

I can't wait for somebody else to get into the ticket distribution business.

you are not alone.

You purchased 3 tickets to:

Seat location: section 231, row 24, seats 10-12

I ordered tickets for an event, they were buy one get one free... and they were $15 dollar seats... ended up paying 15(for the tickets) + 19(for the fees).

I can't stand them either...

and the ticket is covered in ads. Not only that but you must have the whole ticket to get in to most venues instead of just the barcode.

was there no option to buy the tickets directly at the venue?

i typically do that unless it is an event that will sell out fast and i pretty much have to bend over for ticketbastard

When I buy tickets, I 99% of the time go to the venue to do it.

Ticketmaster is more or less a monopoly.

In Capitalist America, Ticketmaster rapes you.

Buy it at the venue, screw ticketmaster

That's what infuriates me also. For many events, I can't even go to the venue's box office and buy a ticket - you have to use Ticketmaster.

I agree. It is the biggest ripoff in the known universe right now. Is there no other company that can compete with them? It's like they have a monopoly and just charge whatever they want and it's ridiculous. But honestly, other than driving to the venue (which many times is too far away) what can we do? Flipping ticketmaster.

Remember when Pearl Jam tried to screw ticketmaster and use another distribution company? Guess that didn't turn out too well. I do wish another company would come in and create some competition, those fees are totally outrageous.

I'm so glad I live next to the 930 club in DC now--they use Tickets.com which isn't as bad as Ticketbastard, but I'd still be paying $4-$6 in fees on top of a $12 ticket. Now I just walk over and buy tix direct from the venue. Gonna see M.I.A. tomorrow night--can't wait!

I love the convenience charge the most. It's just as convenient for them as for us but they are going to charge us anyway.

Also, depending on the Ticketmaster contract with the venue you will still have to pay Ticketmaster fees at the box office. Ask anyone whoever bought a Clemson ticket.

QFT...or many process them through ticketmaster anyway.

You can buy tickets at normal price at the venue (usually). Just go to the venue.

Definitely NOT usually. For low end concerts and shows probably, but anyone on national radio/TV/etc will be a Ticketmaster show and tickets are only available through them.

meh, that's probably true. I've bought tickets for non-national events at the box office before. But then again, for huge HUGE events it's ticketmaster.com/time.gov FTW
