Dear Tapatalk users:

Barfo

Lifer
I'm considering buying this app, but I need to know something first.
Is it possible to disable the "sent from my douchephone using tapatalk" signature in all your forum posts?

Also, does the software work directly on the forums or do I have to make some sort of Tapatalk account and sign on from there?

Thanks.

Yes, you can simply turn the signature off in settings (one of the first things I did). And, you don't create any new accounts for Taptatalk.

Tapatalk works with your existing forum acount

you can dissable the signature, or change it to whatever you want

Is it possible to turn off the constant "This forum supports tapatalk!" notification when I browse the from my tablet?

It's a nice app, and the sig is enabled by default. They won't get my money until that signature is NOT on by default.

There was also a request or sticky for a little while somewhere here requesting users to disable that signature, but I don't know what happens to it. I report every tapatalk sig I see in the hopes that our users won't allow such spam bullshit to be posted through the apps they used.

I'm actually a little surprised it hasn't made it on the censored list here. Something that forces its way into users' post to spread its name seems like the worst kind of spam, and something that I don't think should be allowed... but I don't make such calls. All I can do is report it.

If you have cookies enabled you should only see it once. Hit "cancel" and you should never see it again. I don't see it anymore on either my tablet or phone. Just the first time.

you sound mad

Eh, I got Tapatalk for free from Getjar. Otherwise I'd just keep using Opera Mobile to browse forums.

I still have to since half the forums I frequent aren't available.

If you have private browsing on, you will always see it (at least that is what I have found on my iPhone).

Just about every smartphone email program has "Sent from my DouchePhone" or something similar enabled by default. Do you also not support them?

Nope. Can't exactly get around it though. My new Galaxy S II did not have a signature by default though which I did appreciate. One of the first options I went to disable when I got it actually, so 10 points to Samsung and/or ATT.

yes. that's just a thing for AT. Most big forums, especially the ones that have their roots in phones have already adopted Tapatalk.

I lobbied for a long time for Tapatalk and I remember when I first brought it up, people would always question me or send me to the mobi link. Now that we've gone Tapatalk, I think its a unanimous consensus that it's the way to go.

Yup, Tapatalk is awesome. Use it to browse these forums 90% of the time now.

yeah you can turn it off. totally worthwhile app. hell i only use it to view this forum and its been worth every penny. used to use it for xda and a few other places... but for AT alone its worth it haha.

Totally worth it. I use it for several forums and it's well worth the money. It is possible for the forum to turn off the sig. Another forum I frequent automatically cuts off the sig, it's a mac forum.

Oh, and so far Tapatalk is the only WP7 software I bought. I am afraid to spend too much money on an ecosystem I may abandon one day. Only paid for a couple apps on Android and I love Android.
