You once had sympathy for the Palestinians.
In your Cairo speech of 2009 you said:

“On the other hand, it is also undeniable that the Palestinian people - Muslims and Christians - have suffered in pursuit of a homeland. For more than sixty years they have endured the pain of dislocation. Many wait in refugee camps in the West Bank, Gaza, and neighboring lands for a life of peace and security that they have never been able to lead. They endure the daily humiliations - large and small - that come with occupation. So let there be no doubt: the situation for the Palestinian people is intolerable. America will not turn our backs on the legitimate Palestinian aspiration for dignity, opportunity, and a state of their own.”Obama.Cairo, 6-04-2009.

“State of their own”.You are kidding Pres.? What they need first is their own Iron Dome. Come on, be fair, you gave Israel one.We know it works.

This 2,000 lb GPU 10 ‘Paveway’ bomb was made by your country and given to Israel as US ‘foreign aid’.

Remarkable sequence emerges of Israeli bomb hitting Gaza while residents go about their daily business

You once had sympathy for the Palestinians...

I feel your pain.

But under Obama's Foreign Policy are the people of Palestine doing worse:
... than the people of Libya?
... than the people of Syria?
... than the people of Iraq?
... than the people of Afghanistan?
... than the people of Ukraine?

Admittedly, your complaint has some validity.

But Obama is out playing golf with and raising money from the 1%...

Can't you even try and understand the President's priorities?

Israel OWNS the US when it comes to Israeli interests - period.

The US is Israel's veto puppet at the UN; http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/09/08/us-palestinians-israel-mitchell-idUSTRE78771O20110908. You have Barry pushing for Palestinian statehood in 2009 and then the US confirms vetoing said push for Palestinian statehood in 2011. And, this isn't the 1st time either. Also, in recent news, an Israeli government official tells Barry to fuck off AND Bibi tells Barry to shut his mouth.

Some partnership this is,... we give our money to Israel ($3 billion per year), they then tell us to keep out mouths shut and do as we are told. And, strangely,.. most of you are perfectly OK with that.

If we gave $0 in aid to Israel, I would honestly not give a flying fuck. Even on the veto point; because if the US is stupid enough to let some rabid dog manipulate them on international affairs - whatever.

But, to take my tax money and give it to a bunch of child murderers? Nope. And, then being told to shut my fucking mouth about it? Double nope.

Praising Israel's tactics (political domination of our own government - since the 60s frankly, taking our aid while telling us to keep quiet and lashing out like a rabid crazed dog) is sickening. For shame.

What they need first is their own Iron Dome.
The stronger they are militarily, the more war like the response to their aggression must be. Israel is fighting with kitten gloves today, you want a REAL genocide then you make their opponent strong enough to require one.

Only shill accounts set Times New Roman fonts.

Why does Gaza and West Bank need their own Iron Dome when the missiles fired in are only targeting launch sites, storage sites, and enemy operations sites (conveniently, for Hamas, also able to be labeled "schools," "homes," and "shelters.")? They know where the missiles are going and they count on it.

He was posturing.

The guy only cares about votes.

I'm inclined to agree, I started out with hope for change but then he ran into the brick wall called Netanyahu. We know Obama dislikes him intensely so why does he keep on giving him free munitions?

Obama says "stop West Bank settlement building". Netanyahu accelerates it, but still the arms keep flowing. I know the Jewish vote was critical in California in 1948 but is the Jewish lobby still that critical for Dem candidates?

Agreed, and thanks for the Reuters link, most informative. You say that "Israel owns the US".
What is puzzling to me is how that came about. Is the pro-Israel stance a long-term thank-you to Oppenheimer and Ed Teller for thermo-nuclear weapons?

Teller (h-bomb) was told not to go to Israel to help with their programme, but he went several times anyway, and there was no sanction. Leaving the US with the embarrassment of having to pretend Israel did not have nukes, when they knew all about them for 25 years. Israel, a little client state with a population of 7 million or so is allowed nukes yet 70 million Iranians must go without.

Time for Israel to follow through and finish the job this time. Root every last Hamas member/supporter out.

Yes....end the crap and destroy Hamas once and for all. Once the cancer is cut out, both the Israelis and the Pals could have some peace of sorts.....

I don't even consider it being pro-Israel, it is flat out obedience to Israel. Israel does not care, nor respect the US. The US serves Israel.

Also, imagine if Iran attacked a US warship (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Liberty_incident) and then said; "Oops,..." in response? Or rather, initially; "You fucked up, you deserved to die." What would happen next?

The US is used and directed by Israel, and no one seems to have a problem with that on these forums for some reason.

As to how and why people gladly allow Israel to shackle, beat, berate and dominate the US,.. I do not know.

For a forum is is so against abusive authorities, I am not sure why it gladly bends over when Israel comes knocking in the news.

Obama probably has sympathy for peaceful Palestinians who are being held hostage by Hamas. However, at the same time, many of them did vote for Hamas as their elected government in the West Bank. It's possible to still have sympathy for the ones being held hostage while still understanding the need for a nation to defend itself against thousands of rockets and kidnap/murder tunnels.

It's similar to having sympathy for innocent German citizens in World War II while continuing to support a war against Germany and the Nazis.

Going to have to agree with Mr. Steamer on this one D:

Exactly why I leave the fonts alone. What's your excuse, Mr. Self-Described neurotic bigot?

No, you are being deliberately thick. I did not describe myself as "a neurotic bigot". That was MY description of YOU.
If the best insult you can manage is to plagiarise mine, then I will have to agree with Oscar Wilde, who observed that 'imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.'

Secondly, I will select any font I choose, if that is within the site's rules.

Thirdly, if my ipad uses this font and my PC uses TNR, then I am certainly not changing either font to soothe the hissy fits of a ten year old anally retentive autistic who gets his knickers in a twist about something as trivial as a font; when the purpose of this thread is to explore the reasons for your President's woeful inconsistencies in the matter of Middle East politics.

Now, if you want to insult me back, at least raise your game and try to find something more original than "backatcha".
Or you could even attempt the impossible and add something to the topic.

Plonker.

Butthurt because he got burned by his own comment.

You failed to see my point that until I enlightened you and then you attacked the method of enlightenment.

Off-site smileys are just as telling as fonts and other strange and unecessary post formatting.

That's a good analogy.
I am not a fan of Hamas in any shape or form. They were democratically elected but that is a measure of the desperation of the Palestinians, IMHO.
The Muslim Brotherhood won the election in Egypt and now they are all "terrorists" I hear.
Just as the Irgun were in Palestine before Menachem Begin, their old "terrorist" leader, won the post-Nakba Israeli election. The Brotherhood would have certainly been a disaster for Egypt, but they were elected. Now we are back to another Egyptian military dictatorship.
This democracy stuff is complicated....
As the 'Who' said in "Won't get fooled Again": "Meet the new boss, same as the old boss"?

If every member of Hamas disappeared, the case for Palestinian justice would remain. Pres. Obama's continued arming of Israel is at odds with his expression of support for a Palestinian state, which he knows Israel will never agree to.
