Yeah.. you.. the one who I almost wrecked on my bike when I hit your puddle of oil and antifreeze. It's time to buy a new fscking car.



I wish we had 'inspections' here (don't they do this in europe) where you HAVE to have good tires, working lights/blinkers, NOT LEAKING OIL OR OTHER FLUIDS, etc. It would remove a lot of these POS's off of the road
 
Most states in the US require inspections too. But in PA any car over 25 years old is exempt.

Besides, for many people, that's all they can afford to get them to work. Not everyone can have their parents buy them a new Civic or have the luxury of being able to buy a newer car just because they need it.

Don't forget the people who can afford it but choose not to because they realize what a poor financial move it is.

Thats the problem. Often these junky falling apart cars cost more each month than a more reliable used car. But the people don't even have the financial capability to get a loan for a used car.

I've got a friend who has a car like that. It doesn't leak, but the thing cost him $300 to buy. He spends ~$100 a month in repairs. For $100 a month, he could have a used car which is far better.
 
Let's see, I have a 97 Dodge Ram 1500 that has a few problems (leaks oil, crackd windshield[not a hinderence]). If I was required to fix everything, it would cost about $1500. WTF is the point then?
