Dear lady who made me drop my $80 Apple earbuds down a sewer.

This woman caused you to drop your $80 earbuds and you didn't do anything about it? You should have at least tried to get back at her instead of letting her get away with it.

I don't even understand how this happened. Did she simultaneously rip them out of your ears and your device, then make them fall perfectly into the small crevice of the sewer without getting caught up on anything?

A couple of years ago I was taking the train home. The train stops at my stop and there's this woman with a really big bag in front of me who decided to swing her bag behind her back, it caught my headphones pulling my mp3 player from my pocket and it tumbled down right in the gap of the platform and train, falling thru the grating (it's an above ground station) and onto the support beams that hold up the entire NYC train system. A collective "oooooo" was heard by the people both inside and outside the train. The woman had no idea what she had done and I was too busy laughing at myself to say anything.

Since then I've always pulled my headphones beneath my shirt, taping them to my nipples just to be extra certain.

So, let me get this straight, you've got about three feet of wire extending from your mp3 player that divides into two ear buds about 18 inches apart. You some how get accosted by a windmilling women who manages to simultaneously dislodge the ear buds from your ears and pull the jack from the player. Then, the whole ungainly mass slithers down exactly one slot/hole on the grate before there was any time to react. That about it?

You got any more of what you were smoking?

Haven't you read his other threads? The world is out to get him because he's brown.

Almost guaranteed to be counterfeit if you get it from eBay, right?

[edit]
That seller appears to have legit merchandise.

usually true for most items like this, but apple gave out tons of these as business gifts/company giveaways/party favors/etc. ebay use to be flooded with these thanks to less scrupulous partners, affiliates, and employees

Imagine an Indian guy sticking wire into a sewer along Central Park West. I am sure the Police would love that.

Using the pair that came with my Galaxy Nexus now. They aren't that bad sounding, but I liked the Apple pair better.

Just draw a little Apple symbol on them and they'll sound 10x times better!

Maybe it's just me, but in-ear audio stuff just bugs the shit out of me. The only things I listen to are headphones, if I can't have that, it's speakers or nothing.

You should have played the lottery or something. The odds of someone accidentally ripping both ear buds out, disconnecting them from the player, and dropping down a single slot of a storm sewer have to be about a million to one. Think about it - try to toss a set just a couple feet and have them go down a storm sewer - I'll be you'd be trying over and over and over and over until you successfully managed to get them to go all the way through.

It was one of those tiny Sony mp3 players that cost me $100. You learn these things taking the subway for years.

-Always tape headphones cord to nipples.
-never sit next to a homeless person.
-pretend to read a text message when a panhandler walks by.
