40 seconds to load the forum page, 45 to load the reply window. Cancelled the reply and started over after 60 seconds elapsed with little progress. Am trying again. Sigh.
 
I have lost about 5-7 posts in the last week and I don't post that often (~25% failure rate). Probably seen about 30 "oops there was an error messages". Had a new problem, I just posted a new thread and my links got all mixed up together. It was very odd, took about 20+second to post, then the links and tags got all mixed up with each other. I went in to edit it and I could see all the info, but all the tags (is that the right term?) to make links, bold, italic, etc got all intermixed. Sorry rough details. I don't know how to describe it.

Depends on the browser and the version. Seems that on whichever version of firefox I use at home (or is it IE6.0 at school?), you can hit the backspace button when you see that message and the previous page will load with all the text you typed.
 
Is it not about time you upgrade the forums? They have such a horrid layout, why not use vbulletin or even the free phpbb?
