DEAN'S DEBACLE

Democratic National Committee (DNC) fund raising under the chairmanship of Howard Dean shows a disappointing $16.7 million raised in the first quarter of 2005, compared with $34 million reported by the Republicans.

That tends to confirm dire predictions by old-line Democratic fund-raisers of a fall-off in money if Dean became chairman. He had promised to bring in heavy individual contributions, as he did in his 2004 campaign for president. But the DNC in the first quarter received only $13 million from individuals, compared to $31 million for the Republican National Committee (RNC).

A footnote: A recent DNC fund-raising appeal promised to send field workers to North Carolina, which does not have a major statewide election until 2008.

Link

It won't be long before Dean's thrown overboard.

It will be a pity.

I'm normally open to at least putting up with evil conservatives who I can debate, but you are beyond that. SHUT THE FVCK UP AND STOP MAKING THREADS. No one wants to hear your hyperbolic spin on every piece of news related to gays, liberals, or killing babies where you link to hardcore extremist websites and opinion columns not rooted in any sort of jouranlistic integrity.

Endorsing a socialist for the senate and straying from the tDem talking points probably hasn't helped him either.

Well, there are so many more red states, it is understandable.
:)

By the way, the problem is worsening for the Democrats, not improving. In April alone the RNC raised a total of $10.5 mill to only $4.3 mill for the DNC. They also hold a nearly 4 to 1 cash-on-hand advantage.

That doesn't surprise me. Sports teams that win bring in the more money, I don't see why it would be different here.

Wow.. a post from Rip that doesn't vomit forth (directly, anyway) a religiously fundamentalist antisexual message. I'm in amazement.

Dean could have been much more than he is, but he just lost way too much credibility during the campaign. Sad.

The most corrupt party on Earth receives more money than a party now lead by one of the most honest US politicians...who is surprised?
The rich corrupters know better.
All hail Dean for scaring them away! The democratic party now smells better.

I seem to remember saying this a couple of days ago and an esteemed member of the sheeple left said "78% of all statustics are madeup on the spot".

As for the rest of the sheeple. Not surprising they attack the person and not the msg. It is the only tool left for the rabid left.
I guess the truth is too much for them to take.

Actually, Dean's solo purpose is to look like an idiot so Hillary Clinton can look good.

The Republican control the pork, so get the contributions.
The only way Dean gets money is if he gets his supporters into rave mode by making believe that the "West Wing" is going to come to real life, much like goth girls used to play like "Buffy" was real.

PS. Riprorin is rather civil for a right-winger. If you cannot deal with him, how are you going to handle the "Lady Roosevelt ruined the country" types in the real world.

But it doesn't stop the resident monkeys from jumping up and flinging feces, does it?

I know Rip has a history of mass-posting op-ed pieces, but he's almost always civil and responds to most legitimate criticism. Why people feel the need to START YELLING IN ALL CAPS AND THROWING IN FVCK THIS AND FVCK THAT, I'm not sure.

The messange? You mean the one that implies Dean is less adept at milking cash from political wet nurses? So?

Ah, I get it, it's not the soundness of a position that matters, it's how big the bank account. Yeah, I guess I missed that message too.

I doubt any Republican is "terrified" of dean. Why on earth would they be terrified? terrified of his scream? terrified that he might whine about them in one of his speeches? Oh teh noess!!! How terrifying.
