Please, John Galt, fill in the blank with your wisdom instead of scaring seniors.

scaring seniors= typical liberal white trash tactic, shame on you!

So you rightwingers like to say, yet you aren't above it yourself.

It's been going on for years. If one word about Social Security comes out of the mouth of a Republican it sets off shockwaves through the political system and brings out accusations of trying to destroy it. As much as I'd like to see it ended(in it's current form) I know it's highly unlikely for that to happen - so in the mean time I'm going to propose and promote ideas that help reform it into a sustainable program that won't end in complete bankruptcy or overburden our gov't like the current system is/will.

"Yet any time you and I question the schemes of the do-gooders, we're denounced as being opposed to their humanitarian goals."

Please STFU already about military pay since you obviously have no clue about it. Military pay has been raised substantially every year under Bush, including targeting raises for specific grade/year combinations assessed to be particularly lagging. Further, the gap between Basic Allowance for Housing and actual rent has gradually been reduced from 15% to somewhere around 2.5% this year, with 0% planned for next year. Special combat and danger pays were implemented in 2001 and ARE STILL IN PLACE, despite the insinuations from that SIX MONTH old Army Times editorial, which only speculated on the upcoming budget which has now been passed.

DoD is now also considering (or has already put in place, not sure) full replacement value compensation for damaged goods during Permanent Change of Station moves, which has been a long time in coming. They have also implemented the ability to have a vehicle shipped cross-country rather than forcing military families to drive two cars. The Bush administration hasn't been perfect to the military, but it's certainly world's better than the previous one.

Reminds me of when my brother got out of the service in 1982 only to find out that Reagan had AXED unemployment benefits for veterans.
