Dean in denial????

First, I imagine he's a little punchy. He's probably only had 20 hours sleep in the last week. Second, if you look at it objectively, 18% in his first national test is pretty good. It is, however, well below expectations. I suspect one of his lessons learned is NOT focusing so much on Iraq, but to broaden his message to attack Bush on other fronts and to emphasize his strong record of responsible fiscal policy. He has the opportunity to start over as he moves into each new state.

On the other hand, one of his major strengths was his seeming ability to mobilize people who normally opt-out of politics. While it appears there were record turn-outs, it didn't help Dean much.
 
He is not a quitter. Good for him. He may be 3rd in Iowa, but that is only 1 state out of 50. There is plenty of time to form a campaign to win the ultimate prize, the White House. From these results we can start pairing up the P/VP combo to take on Bush/Cheney. Remember too, Clark will be in the mix next. This is starting to shape up into a race that will produce a very viable alternative to the last 4 freakin loser years we have had to endure.
 
Damn what a spanking. Then again . . . everybody knows the caucus process is a bunch of poo . . . hell Dean said it years ago.

Kerry/Edwards . . . I like that ticket.

I mean its nice to have some passion and intensity, but imagine that guy with nuclear weapons? O_O

Actually, his craziness wasn't psychotically angry, it was more funny. But the clips the media will show won't show him laughing after his rant, and he might have just killed his own campaign because he wasn't media savvy enough...

Imagine a President launching a Pre-emptive strike against phantom Weapons Of Mass Destruction and landing on Aircraft Carriers and declaring "his" war over :Q
 
Rules for candidates:

They shouldn't:

1. Sound stentorian-Kerry;
2. Sound like they missed at least 18 years of education and get wound up every morning-Bush;
3. Smile too much-Edwards;
4. Look like they are dead, almost dead, wish they were dead, or wish you were dead-Cheney;
5. Make the exact same speech 100 times in 100 days-Gebhardt;
6. Sound like a broken record-Dean on the war;
7. Forget their party affiliation-Clark;
8. Think they can win if they are female, black, or don't eat meat-Kucinich, Sharpton, Braun; (this is sad, but still true)
9. Forget they are an American citizen-Joe Lieberman;
10. Act like we're all idiots-Every bloomin' one of them.

Listening to the clips and watching the video too me it just sounds like a pep rallying to keep his people motivatied. The problem with Dean is that he has been in the lead for so long that he climaxed before there ever was a vote. Dean needs to re-spark the fire in his campaign and get back on track. Of course to the pundits and those with an agenda it's seen as a "melt down". This is of course an attempt to knock Dean out because he is indeed a threat to Bush if he gains momentum. Think "Gray Davis" and how he went after Rep's in the primaries to knock out the strongest runnner so he'll have to face the weakest one when it's his turn to go up against them.

P.S. LoL - Anyone listen to Howard Stern in the morning ? If so you'll catch the funny Dean = AC/DC bit. Actually his speech would sound cool with a AC/DC song in the background.
 
It's not like Iowa speaks for the states. Demographically, they aren't representative of anything but Iowa.

Let's see what happens in NH, then we can start to chatter about spankings.
 
I wish I could mold my own candidate from these people - Carol's charm, Clark's looks, Dean's debate-ability, Edward's southern accent, Kerry's foreign experience, and Sharpton's sense of humor.

Sorry, but if that popped into my mind then you know the republican undergnomes will think of it to. The best defence in this situation is to recognize your own faults/weak spots and come up with solutions that either minimize the impact or deal with them in an honest, open matter. Of course, anyone can see that the latter is the best way to go but no politician will every go that way.

Nice observation...Willy did have charm, looks, and a southern accent...and his "is" snafu was quite funny...guess Democrats are just reaching out for another intern-foker.
