About the Red Devil: Top tier 2080tis were selling for that a couple of years ago. That is simply where the high end is now. Even without the world going full derp, price creep was going to ensure $1000 and up for flagship cards.
As to deals, that is now a relative term. The shuffle, Best Buy drops, and Microcenter are about as good as it gets here in the states. I paid $449 for a 3060 from the shuffle, which is definitely a deal in this market. And if you throw your old Ferengi math calculator away, you will adjust much faster to the current timeline. E.G. MSRP, or what that 3060 should cost in the old timeline makes it seem like a bad buy. But, it has 4GB more ram, newer feature set, and better performance per watt than the 2060 super I paid $400 for. Good enough for $50 more. All of the ranting, raving, whining, etc. just tells me which stage of the Kübler-Ross model they are experiencing. 😛
To conclude: The only way to get a vid card deal now, to reiterate, is throw away your old Ferengi math calculator and start embracing the new math. Because prices ain't going back to "normal" anytime soon, if ever.
