Dealing with Body Odor, what can one do?

A hall buddy of mine has a roommate that basically just smells like crap. His dad came today and he smelled too! My friend notices that he doesn't shower often. Do you think really stank-ass people smell less crappy when they shower? I know some people stink regardless...

I'm sure it would help if he showered. And smelly people DO NOT appreciate having air freshener sprayed around (Nor will any other non-stinky people - air freshener, while it smells nice to some sickeningly disgusting person, is found to be disgustingly scented to most of humanity.

yea, those smell people need to shower....I have some nerd friends that seem to be smell less even with a solid showerless week of LAN party though.

why not just tell him? I would want to know if i was smelling the bad.

Showering sounds like it would solve your buddy's problem, but there are some people with overactive sweat glands. A cousin of mine has armpits that by the end of the day, regardless of the deoderant she used were just rank.

She found some herbal supplemant online that was supposed to help and now she swears by it.

Speaking of which, I noticed that a large portion of the GEEK population have a BO problem. Just so you know, random geeks who are reading this, the probability that you smell is very high. To combat this please:

1. shower daily
2. wear deoderant
3. wash clothes on a routine basis
4. wear clean clothes.

That guy should shower at least once in 2 days MINIMUM

Are you sure? How do you know? You can't smell yourself. And most people are too embarassed to tell someone they stink. Just on the safe side I think you should wear deoderant!

(I only say this because I know people who still smell even though they shower and automatically think they don't smell)

my BO problem isn't too bad, I can get by with two or three days without showering, but then my hair just gets greasy. =/.

I shower once a day, mostly.

or use sheets on his bed, he took the mattress out and hosed it off every COUPLE OF MONTHS

as for your friend, hide a bottle of axe next to him then fire pistol at it so he will punsihed for not showering and he will smell better.

There was a kid that I went to school with that refused to shower. I went to school with him for 13 years, and for 13 years he reeked, and he was definitely informed. Even with all the tormenting, he still wouldn't shower. I never did understand it.

i gotta shower everyday or i feel weird. i like the refreshing shower every morning and people that smell are just nasty. you guys ever walk in halls and know someone was walking earlier that reaked because you still smell it lingering around.

yep. same. us asians are blessed with not much bo. i will still kinda smell after sports... but not to the extent of... well... you know. brown people.

i hate playing sports against bo-heavy people. goddamn. nothing like running into a big guy under the basket with his arms up and his pits in YO FACE.

i dun know if being an asian is a qualifier for not being stinky. back in the old country, where they dun really shower on a daily basis, bo is always in the air, esp during the summer.. it goes pretty nicely w/ that nice and ripe hot garbage lining hte side of the street smell.

think the imp things are showing, wearing clean cloths, and not being fat. (just stating the facts, the worst bo i smelled were by fat people, not sure if showering helps them or not.)

oh. i have somehting to add. almost grosser than bo is the sour smell that goes along with someone who doesnt shower, and/or doesnt change/wash their clothes. yuck.
