Also, you can't get PIP to work. I had a tech here to help with a slight geometry problem. He saw that PIP in the service menu and was as intrigued as we were. He thought it would be hysterical and cool to activate it for me. But apparently it can't be. ONe of the necessary parts is in all the Samsung tvs, apparently, but we're missing one needed for the PIP to work. I'm not a tech so I don't remember which we have and which we lack, but he determined we can't get it.
Be EXTREMELY careful in the service menu, folks.
Some of you have asked about the convergence menu. Unless you are techs (and you aren't because if you were you'd have seen what I am about to say later) you will screw up your set royally.
The convergence adjustments are within the service menu. G2-adjust. Go in there and expect to ruin your set. I have a service manual. They are quite clear that to mess with that menu, you need a variety of equipment and have to follow several steps and "if you do not follow these steps the picture will become abnormal."
Stay away from G2-adjust. If your convergence is off, use your extended warranty (if you don't think you need one search in audioreview.com or hometheaterforum.com on any flat screen television from Sony, Toshiba, Panasonic and you'll see they are all suspect) to get service to come fix it or get it exchanged.
