Be sure you include shipping when comparing. Buy.COM is $243.95 plus $7.20 shipping (standard) or $13.18 (second day). Onvia is free and usually is next day delivery ($22 additional at Buy.COM).

Onvia's free shipping is UPS Ground. Your order should be shipped the same day if it's placed before 2:00 pm EST and the items are in stock. If so and you live close enough to the warehouse that has the items in stock, you should get it the next day.

The only reason I mentioned Buy.com was to release, rumor has it, new coupons this weekend. We will see. I prefer to use Onvia though. Has anyone heard anymore about Onvia and PC?

Based on my experiences, Onvia comes next day to me if ordered early. I usually have my Onvia orders before Buy.com even get's their orders shipped. Onvia is lightening quick with in stock items, I've been real impressed with their speed. Last order was done on Tuesday at 10AM, received item by 2PM the next day! But then this has been typical of their delivery times. I guess I'm close to one of their warehouses.

Onvia is still on pointclick. I just ordered this drive yesterday morning (that's the key, onvia is usually on pointclick in the morning, they must have a daily quota that once filled makes them disappear for the rest of the day). I was ready to purchase this drive two days ago but couldn't find Onvia on pointclick so I decided to way until the yesterday morning and voila they were there. Got the drive for $215. I sold my old 4/2/24 drive for $65 so my upgrade cost me about $150...not bad.

BTW, I got the drive today. I live in San Antonio TX and there is a warehouse in Carrolton TX (Near Dallas) and if the item is in stock there I usually get it next day. I got my, 700e and 30gig hard drive the same way.

Bob61,

For most pc items, Buy.com and Onvia.com use the same Ingram Micro warehouses. I live in MD and if the items are in stock at the PA warehouse, I'll get the items the following day if I order say by 2:00 pm. Didn't matter if I ordered it from Buy.com or Onvia.com. That doesn't discount the possibility that Onvia.com processes orders quicker, but after that it's pretty much safe to say it's out of their hands.

Bob61 - All is not lost. For starters, you get two coupons per account. Also, you can always make another account if you use up your coupons.

Here's the deal with OnVia and Pointclick

Dear Customer,

Thank you for your email. Onvia.com is on the Pointclick Network
again, it is on in the morning and caps out quickly so it is taken off for a good portion of the day. We apologize for the inconvenience. If you have further questions please feel free to contact us again. Have a great day.

Sincerely,
Pointclick Customer Support

SO, just fill out the reimbursment request in the morning!

Go to the 'Reimbursment Request' members area. Tehre should be a pull-down menu with all the vendors. Onvia will be listed (Onvia/avenue a).

cheers!

Edit: I just checked and it's there!

Bob61,
If your "It's gone now" post was referring to my "It's right on their home page. You can't miss it." post, I was replying to Phygoris who asked for information on how the 10% from PointClick worked.

If you place an order at Onvia.com without using the link at PointClick first, you may still get reimbursed. But that's not guaranteed, not if PointClick decides to enforce the rules. Just go to PointClick in the morning at around 9am EST. It should be under "Computer/Electronics", but only for an hour or two.

This is a great deal, but who would pay over $350 for it unless your only source for peripherals is CompUSA, Best Buy, Staples or Office Depot.

I agree but I guess I was trying to say anyone who comes to this forum would not have paid full price at a B&M store.

Another newbie question
If your Pointclick's 10% Reimbursment is less than $25 do they still count the 10% discount and send you a check? For example for this rewriter: Pointclick's 10% Reimbursment is around 23 dollors... will they still mail you a reimbusment if ur total is less than $25. Thanks for any help.

Yes (they'll count the 10%) and no (they won't issue a check). In that case it'll stay in your account until it reaches the minimum or they cancel your account (and you lose the balance) due to inactivity.
