Same as CompUSA.

actually, that is exactly what the east brunswick (NJ) CC said.

Didn't work for me at the Boulder, CO store. They wanted to factor in the CC rebate. When I got home, I called CC CSR and they gave me some bs answer that it was a clearance item and they wouldn't pm it.

success! after going to two stores, one of em let me price match and the other had the infineon -6ns ram. Just PMed at the store and exchanged at the other. Took about two hours, the manager looked at the compusa ad for like 15 minutes

Only had PC2100 RAM at the CC in Madison West (WI). All five they had on the shelf were 7.5ns. I tried it at 166mhz; but it wouldn't even POST. Oh well, I'm not complaining at this price. Nice find.

CC and Staples have to be hating CompUSA for having such a low price w/o rebates. Hehe.

I may try the east side store tommorow.

Report from Madison, WI

First stop, Compusa, sold out, I knew this was going to give me problems. Next stop Circuit City on the west side, no PC2700 marked as PC2100, but I decided to try the price match. I almost got it at $39, but the guy went to the manage at the last minute (grrrrrr), the girl who was actually ringing it up would have probably done it. On to Best Buy on the west side, they wouldn't price match becuase CompUSA was out of stock, but they had the coveted Samsung PC2700, so I bought 2 of those (still 2 left).

Picked up my GF, had dinner, then on the Circuit City on the east side. This time I stayed clear of Computer Personal and went straight to the checkout, and the girl was ready, willing and able.......to give me the 110%, so I was out the door with 2x256 for $71.xx

Went across the street to Best Buy and returned the first pair of non-PC2700 and got my $210 back. Seriously, why would anyone pay $210(including tax) for 2x256 PC2100, when you can get Cosair XMS PC2700 1x512 for around $200 with shipping, and these places wonder why we are trying to price match.

So I still have to return the second pair of 256 dimms to circuit city with the $69 reciept price.

I didn't get the rebate slips at the second circuit city, but i did get them at the first store. I think the $10 CC rebate says you can send a copy, so I'm going to send a copy of my $69.99 receipt before I return it. I'll send the $39.99 one for the $20 one. I'll do the same, except my GF going to fill out the 2nd set of forms to get around that blasted limit one per person/house hold.

I do have a question though. The manager at the first circuit city rang up 2 sales so I could send in the rebates twice. Was he trying to screew me out of $30, cause the rebates say limit 1, or I wonder if he thinks I will get both.

Oh well, I think in the end I'll get my rebates. This is the first hot deal I've gotton in on, and I must say thankyou to everyone that has contributed.

:| My compusa had them is stock. My CC had them in stock. I called the desk and they said come in and they would price match. I get there and the floor manager flat out refused. He said he didn't have to and that all I was doing was trying to take advantage of them. I asked him for a copy of their written policy that allowed him to refuse such a legit match and he said no he didn't have to do that either and to call the store manager if I didn't like it. Since when did CC turn into BB?

BB in Irving TX still has PNY 2100 w/ Samsung 2700 in the box (although they have two less now :D). No problem w/ PM to C-USA (C-USA, Staples, and OM all have the memory locked up - no way to see what they had)...

Man I drove 60 miles total in order to get this deal to work. In the end, 2 256mb pc2100 sticks for ~$7.00 (that is, if the rebates go thru). Those bastards in the San Jose store (near Eastridge Mall) gave me hell.

Hi,

Thanks ziptar! I did this deal successfully today. The CC CSR checked CompUSA's online site for the price. There are 2 PNY 256mb DDR products there, $39.99 and $79.99. He was not sure which one matched CC's product. I pointed out that the part # on the UPC of his product matched the part # for the $39.99 item at CUSA and then he agreed. His manager asked him to confirm that the local CUSA has this item in stock and it turned out they did. 110% matched. Awesome deal!

i ordered mine online, and choose in-store pickup... i went in and got my reserved pc2100 ram, the rest was sold out.. the girl saw my compusa ad in my hand, and she was like "i suppose you want to pricematch also!"... soo she gladly pricematched! she was actually telling me they were gonna have more, and which other stores nearby currently had some in stock because I wanted another one... she was really nice

this was my best pricematch experience ever! only downside was that I jus looked at my receipt and they only did a 100% PM, not 110% oh well
CC rules! BB sucks!

edit: oops i forgot to mention that i used MSN wallet to order... so more savings! (20% MSN rebate)

I picked up 2 of these in San Diego for $33.99 each after 110% pricematch. I showed the Comp USA add to kthe salesman who took it to his manager....no problem.

All they had was the DDR2100 with "Elixer" chips.

512 ddr mem for $43.24 after MIR...not bad....

Dan

yep, me and spanky went today, but the store manager did not budge, even though I gave it a good fight.
