Deal or No Deal's back :D

Can someone explain this game show to me? It's making absolutely no sense.

There's no intelligence required, just guessing the whole fscking way through? This shouldn't last long.

It's a pretty cool game, once you see an episode.

"The rules are simple. Choose a briefcase. Then as each round progresses, you must either stay with your original briefcase choice or make a "deal" with the bank to accept its cash offer in exchange for whatever dollar amount is in your chosen case.

Once you decide to accept or decline the bank's offer, the decision is final.

Contestants are encouraged to ask friends or family in the audience for advice; however, only the contestant's answer will be considered binding and final. "

I thought the same thing, until I watched it for the first time when it came on for a week a couple of months ago. I couldn't resist the pull after seeing the first episode. I was one of those guys who kept yelling at the contestants, like I tend to do while watching football games. I found it entirely too addictive.

you have to do 2 things (i think)... you have to work out the odds of the next round being good for you and the odds that if it isn't there will be a good round next time, etc. You also have to keep a poker face so the banker can't tell what you're thinking and when you're gonna 'fold'.

Alright, I caught a good bit of this episode, and I must say.

"No fscking deal."

Whoever decided to walk with the amount they have is fscking stupid. This game show sucks and I'm incredibly dissapointed.

Howie Mandel is the host (it's on in Canada too)

oh, and apparently Donald Trump is available for a walk-on cameo?

LOL...the guy had his hands all over the DON and hugs him...

The Donald pushed him away and said what the hell are you doing? 😀

the odds are always in your favor to not take the deal, the EV should be (sum of all values in each briefcase) / (number of briefcases), which is always higher than the number they offer.

To get the best expected value, you really should jsut stick with whatever suitcase you choose....but that also means you may lose out and end up with $5 😛

Which is why I pretty much say he walks after one of those big numbers is gone.

i think he made the right decision here....even if he has a low amount in his case, he still has 50% chance that he chooses will be low. if he has a big value, his chances are 75%.

The EV should be 312500....and he's getting offered $279,000. I think thats a msall enough difference to take.

The odds are against him now....he has 2 cases left. if he is holding a small value is has a 33% chance of getting a small value. if he has a large one, there is a 66% change. I guess its still 50/50....but thats risky

He's taking a pretty big chance IMHO... There's a 50% chance that the next box will be one of the big numbers... I don't like that so I would have walked.

(25%) if he opens the $750,000 case, i think his offer will drop to around $150,000 (EV of $167,000)
(25%) if he opens the $500,000 case, the offer will hover near $200,000 (EV of $250,000)
(50%) if he opens any of the small ones, his offer should be around $350-$375,000) (EV of $417,000)

so overall, his EV is $256,000 using my guesses of what he will be offered.

$279,000 > $256,000, so i think he should take the deal
