UPDATE...

Tried and died. Oh well. I should look at it as saving $900 instead of $300. lol My poor 20.1" FPW has never looked small to me before now. lol Congrats to those who are able to get this. I've now got monitor envy.

If you would still like to try, i believe a quote number (not same as an order number as I just found out when trying to use it :) ) is all you would need. Let me know.

That's alright. I appreciate it though. I wanted to use my Dell account to pay for it but it looks like you really can't use it on Small Business purchases as I have in the past.

..there has been
a company-wide memo that this monitor is not to be sold at that price.
Any monitors sold at that price will cause an automatic cancellation of
the order.

Just a heads up for those thinking about getting in on this deal.

Hmm... ordered on 3/05, and it's still 'in production'. :( And it's not like I can call up Dell to pester them to hurry up since they can always point to the estimated ship date of 3/16.

Now this purported memo is freaking me out! :Q

Yeah i ordered one with brandon as well, good guy. Hope it works out, or else we might end up paying $50 more for them BLAH. Thats what i get for selling my 2001FP first before buying this. Who knew it would only take 2 days to sell on craiglist.

I can't wait for mine! Also, they're probably still in pre-production and production phase because they're backordered, no?

This seems like a killer deal.I thought getting my 2005 for $600 was a steal.

Could someone PM me the info to get in contact with a rep that will give out these deals please?

i already game at 1600x1200, it can't be too much worse than that. Anyway im sure everyone here has 6800's or X800's.

Gaming isn't the reason why im getting this monitor.

THIS is the first True HD Monitor in dells line, and it has component/dvi in. This means that you can enjoy the benifits of high defination sources such as progressive scan dvd players, Xbox, HDTV.

The 2405fpw in a 3 monitors configuration ? Do you think it's possible ?
What other dell monitor would fit to the height ot the 2405fpw ?
I plan maybe to buy 2 17" or 19", to flip them vertically on both sides of the 2405fpw.
It should be something like that : 1024x1280 + 1900x1200 + 1024x1280

I wonder if the new matrox pcie card will be able to handle the 3 monitors in dvi ?

Actually people who have this monitor are already reporting back in. You won't have to spend MEGA BUCKS, but you may have to turn off some of the eye-candy or scale it back some. (As a general idea,) I think someone said turning from Shaders 2.0+++ to Shaders 2.0 made it completely lag free for them. . .

My plan is to run a 2001FP beside the 2405FP. This way you get a contant 1200 pixel hieght across all monitors. Only problem i can see is that the 2405 seems to be a half an inch taller than the 2001 so ill tell you what it looks like when i get it

Just got mine a few minutes ago in the mail. The customer support sucks but the product is amazing. no bad pixels or leakage. just unwrappeed it and am going to run it through its paces in a second. got a 6800 ultra that i want to test along with it - does anyone know where to get the patch for doom 3 widescreen support?

btw - ordered on friday afternoon and got it this(tuesday) afternoon - shippinh said i wouldn't get it til 19th but it all worked out. price was 860 + taxes. I goto school and all the other kids here are going nuts. guess my winter job money was well spent :D

Oh I got mine from ANdy too. he's legit

Why is Andy's email address "wipro.com". I've never seen an email address outside of Dell for a sales person. All their sales are either Nashville or TX as far as I know.

Thanks very much for your answer. It's true that 1200 across all monitors would be ideal.
If you could send a photo of your monitors once you have them installed together that would be very nice ;)

Thanks again
