A few companies are shipping their card's gpu o/ced at 330 and Gainward will have its memory at 750. That way they can say that their cards bench better than the rest because of the o/c. Visiontek makes the Nvidia reference boards so expect performance to be the same as what all the reviews have shown so far. If you play games at 1024, both the 4400 and 4600 will perform at around 5-10 fps difference. If you like playing at 1600 or use 4xAA, then you may want to get the 4600 since it will give you a boost.

Last time I ordered a graphics card at Gateway was last summer. They had one of these 50 off 199 or similar deals and I ordered an Elsa Gladiac 920 GF3. I waited FOREVER for that thing to frigging show up. Turns out, they f'ed up and added a Visiontek GF3 to my total too...making my total charge over 760 bucks. I MADE them pay the shipping for the card I didn't order.

So many people were made aware of this deal that we probably won't get our cards until frigging AUGUST. Don't trust the 3/5 figures...they said the same thing on MY order, and they KEPT saying it for over two months. Just hope no one is depending on getting this card PROMPTLY.

I don't think there's a whole lot of us here out of total amt of posters that ordered the card. I'm not worried about a long delay. I think your case might have been an isolated one Destruyar.

I ordered through them last summer on the deal on the Visiontek Geforce 3. It was like just like this. Mine came exactly as they stated.

sweet! I just place an order for the 4400. Good enough for my laser-cut eyes. Total cuz of tax in CA was $256. I was totally gonna wait 2 months for the 4200 and spend $199 but what is $50? Guess I just won't eat lunch for 2 weeks to make up the $50. Currently only get 30-40fps in RTCW with geforce2mx amd1700. Hoping for a slight fps increase.

Joker - I would LOVE to think so, but this deal went BEYOND AT. I saw it at HardOCP, overclockers.com, f4twallet, techbargains, ableshoppers, amdmb.com, and a few other places. It's pretty safe to say 5,000-10,000 people on AT alone were made privy to this deal, not even COUNTING the external sites that posted it.

I can't purchase anything from the gateway site. It keeps giving me errors when I try to register. I sure hope they get it fixed soon!

Mr Bass--

You'll get a lot more than a slight increase in fps over that mx :) DestruyaUR--You have a good point but if there is one, I wouldn't think more than a week at most to get new shipments. I'm not too concerned even if there is a delay considering i'm saving over 80 dollars (299 retail + tax vs 256 shipped) :)

<< So if you open up a new account, can you use the same credit card and have it shipped to the same address and get the rebate? >>

In my case, I used different credit cards, but shipped to the same address (to different name though).

Had to wait the whole weekend to get in contact with these individuals. Cant wait till tommorow. Changing my order from a 4600 to a 4400. Cant see why I would want to pay 110$ for 100mhz of memory.

Just ordered the TI4400. Damn you anandtechers for making me buy it...tooooo tempting....hehehe

Quick question about the TI4400. It says it has TV Out, but it only has a VGA, S-Video, and DVI connectors. How does it get TV-Out?

Can this card support dual monitors?

I'm not too worried about delivery, as I was one of the first in on this deal (ordered the 4400).

Nightops,
The connector is DVI. This is used for LCD monitors and does not work for regular CRT monitors. I have not heard of a passthrough cable that allows you to connect that connector to a LCD.

I just cancelled my order for the 4600 to a 4400.

According to Tom's Hardware:

"All GeForce4 cards are equipped with dual 350 MHz RAMDACs as well as TDMS transmitters for dual CRT or flat panel solutions. On top of that, NVIDIA supplied a plethora of software features that enable you to do all kinds of things with your personal dual display setup. Getting into more detail of this feature would extend over the boundaries of this article."

And at the end:

"Last but not least, I'd commend NVIDIA on the decision to equip all their new cards with dual display capabilities. Two displays instead of only one can make your work more efficient indeed. We know, of course, that NVIDIA did not exactly invent this idea. This credit goes to Matrox. It's too bad that only GeForce4 MX was equipped with an integrated video encoder. I can only hope that NVIDIA will finally manage to bring its video output quality on par with S3 and ATi. So far NVIDIA has been down in the dumps as far as that feature is concerned. "

Here's the link to the article:

Thus I'm confused as to what it says on VisionTek's site and on gateway's site. Maybe there is a DVI to VGA connector...

"Can someone explain to me what the rightmost output is on the GF4 cards? Is that a DVI input? If so, would I need to get a special type of monitor for that, or do they make DVI>VGA converters."

I believe CompGeeks has DVI>VGA converters. I checked there a couple of months ago and saw them. Don't know if they are still there or not and can't check while at work. :)

According to VisionTek support, DVI to VGA adapters are available and can be used without degredation of signal. A quick glanse around the web shows prices ranging from $15-$40 for the item.

Search results on DVI-->VGA adapter

Teah, there are converters, and they work perfectly. ATI included one with their 7500 and 8500 retail cards.

Visiontek better be including the DVI> VGA converter.

Great deal! It's like getting the blowout price on the card on the day it becomes available!

Hell at these prices I won't even mind waiting an extra few weeks if they go out of stock.

Talking to tech support lends me to think there is no converter included with the card. Not 100% sure though. I tried contacting VisionTek through their sales email address but it keeps getting bounced. Maybe someone else will have better luck finding out.

Maybe I'm confused, but I was just on Visiontek's website and it indicated that both the 4400 and 4600 cards had BOTH DVI and VGA outputs.

Is there something that I don't know?

<edit> never mind, it appears that people were concerned about having TWO VGA connectors out of the box </edit>
