Wow that must be an incredible experience. I did not even know that was possible. Incredible how medicine has become so advanced now.

Saw this a couple weeks back. It really is one of those feel good moments of true joy. I remember the video of the baby that heard his mother's voice for the first time. The look on his face was priceless. :)

Wow, that was very emotional. I'm sure her brain was going "WTF" trying to process something that it never had to before. I just couldn't imagine going through life without one of my senses.

And to think, some deaf advocates are against this kind of technology :(

On another note, I couldn't get out of the back of my mind "That's a nice rack"

Some people can't deal. After being unable to hear for so long their brain can't properly process all the sounds, focus on important stuff, block out unimportant stuff, and they get rid of the hearing devices.

Crazy. Imagine the transition. She almost speak a foreign language since her English is so garbled and she probably has a hard time understanding audible language. I'd be curious to hear what she sounds like in 2-3 years, if that 'accent' of hers ever goes away fully.

I'd imagine it's like a newborn learning to speak.

Hopefully that technology can be mobile and effective long enough for her to learn the sound of words... to be able to grasp a conversation without assistance from sign language. Now that would be awesome.

I remember a House episode that had this element in it.

you dont know how this works do you?

They wire an amplifier into her skull and connect it do a device wired to her inner ear. It has a portable battery on in and always is on. its ran by a micro computer.

There have been a few of these videos. The most notable one for me if I remember correct was a little girl. The looks on her face are pretty cool to see.

also the one that Hunter just posted. That was pretty awesome. Ive seen that before as well.

It's always been a dream of mine to bang a hot deaf chick. Just imagine all the crazy crap you could scream out while doing the deed.

I cannot imagine what it must be like.

Definitely got me emotional seeing this.
