I am looking for a way to create cpu cooler that could keep my cpu below 0 degrees C. I have found compressor coolers but they are about $900. I was thinking that I could make some thing out of some mini refrigerator parts and a good water block. But my concern with that would be condensation and the pressure that would be put on the water block since most of them have plastic tops. I have a good cooling solution at this time but this is just some thing that I have been toying with.

LMK me know what your opinions are.

Watch for condensation. Water + Computer = Not that good.
A pre-built phase change cooling system is the best way to go.

You could do a chilled water system with a mini fridge; i.e. the freezer would be there instead of a radiator/heater core, and you would put your water/anti-freeze mix or whatever in there. You could also mod your fridge to cool your CPU (thats what Vapochills are, and what some people over at Xtremesystems do (Chilly1, PC Ice) for like $2-3000), but you can't really use a waterblock for that, and it would be a lot of work. My advice would be to go over to Xtreme and read about making a cascade and chilled water for some info, as this isn't most Anandtechers' area of knowledge. Good luck with this though.

Thanks for the info I will try that still looking for a mini frig that would work. What can I use for a block on the cpu. My idea was to just use the guts of the refrigator and run a line from the compresser to the cpu block and then back to the radiator and then to the compresser again.

If you try to use a waterblock in a cascade, it won't work. You would have to put an insane amount of insulation on, and then still mod your block a lot to get rid of condensation. You may be able to get some kind cascade block (forget the correct term), but that would need a trip over to Xtreme, as most people here (especially me), again, don't know so much about supercooling. I think on Xtremesystems there are some guides for making a phase-change system, but they require a LOT of work. The chilled water idea won't give you nearly as good performance as phase-change, but you can have your GPU (and chipset, etc.) in the loop, withought having to mod another cascade. Also, if you pay for electricity, another compressor wouldn't be so good on your bill. If you still want to mod your fridge, then you get to have a much better OC than the rest of us. Personally, I don't have the time, commitment, or brazing abilities to do something like this. Hopefully, you do not have a Winchester CPU 😀.
