I bought one of these CPUs several months back for an old socket7 Shuttle HOT567 board with an Intel TX430 chipset, replacing a Pentium 200MMX. As I recall the trick, which works on many different brands of boards, was to set the multiplier to 2x and the board will actually boot at 6x, needs a relatively close voltage too but not real picky. You can set the bus to run at 75 (or 83mhz possibly) and you have a 6x75=450mhz box (or 6x83=498) at least likey. This CPU with Libranet Linux is a decent web surfer and I can listen to music at the same time with a MadMutt feebie soundcard. It took about an hour to install linux and it is a very slick desktop, think menus, less command line. This would also make a decent little server, router or something. That CPU might have more use than you think.
By the way the price was up to $20 and they are sold out it looks like!!
