But more is better. After 512mb the improvements are less and less when you move up. Ram is pretty cheap now a days though, unless you go for the more OC'able stuff.......

Go with the max number of 256mb sticks you can get. 256mb sticks have better latency than 512 sticks.

You probably don't do anything memory intensive. Try playing BF1942 with 256 then try it with 1 GB. Also pay attention as to the way things load. 1 gig is worth it, but only if you'll actually use it.

My next build is going to have 1gig pc2700..just for the heck of it..mabe I'll use it..mabe I won't. But it will be there just in case...

I noticed some difference going from 512 to 1gb, but not as much as going from 256 to 512.
