im getting this error for the past 30mins:

Thank you for shopping at buy.com, the internet superstore.

We were unable to access the page you requested. Our server may be busy. Please wait a few seconds, then try again.

We apologize for the delay.

It's worse than that now...their server says it's out of memory. Serves 'em right for using IIS instead of a real webserver. :p

Here.

Looks like $50 to me from a lousy company with poor evaluations, nowhere to compare to security of buying from buy.com. Plus "recertified" means something was wrong with these speakers.
Strange it is already out of stock, probably they had only one set for a naive buyer.

my friend ordered these speakers from them and it came in retail package with all cables, etc... but anyway, are the z-640's better then this 2.1 speaker set?? I wasnt really all that impressed with the z-640's.

I've heard these before. They are higher quality sound-wise than any crappy Labtec get-up. Spruce drivers with actual rubber surrounds on the satellites, IIRC. The Logitechs will probably go louder, but I doubt you'll hear a difference worth double the price.

These speakers are awesome. Tiny footprint, nice look, and very good sound quality through USB. Especially good for laptop users with crummy built-in sound cards.

Besides the Microsoft USB speakers I no longer see selling, I don't see any other USB speakers that actually feed the sound through the USB connection (many seem to just use the USB connection for control feedback). So I find these to be an exceptional value even if priced higher, and a steal at $14 shipped. I don't think $14 would even cover the shipping if I shipped these speakers myself cross-country.

OK, I know these are just $15 speaks, but they totally sound like ass. I got mine yesterday and thought they would be better than the Cambridge Soundworks I have, but these don't even compare. They sound empty and hollow; no bass, no highs, just mids.

I also never got a confirmation, ship notice or charge on my credit card. I guess they were free, but still not worth the effort of ordering.

I have Cambridge Soundworks too, and I don't think these Yamahas sound like ass. Far from it. With proper tuning and speaker placement, i couldn't have asked for better sound from my laptop. Besides, I can't bypass my laptop's lowly built-in sound with my Cambridge Soundworks like I can with the Yamahas through USB.

Get a fudge outta here :D :D, free Yamaha speakers and you're comlainin' you spoiled @#$!?

He-he, it's probably just not showing on your credit card yet...

P.S. Same here about sent to warehouse order status but the receipts do show free shipping: Budget 14-21 days, so we have to wait.

No really, it's not in my Buy.com history and I NEVER got any conformation. I figured I wasn't getting this deal and then FedEx comes with the box. I guess I was expecting USB speakers to sound better. Is there any tweeking that needs to be done? I only see a subwoofer adjustment. I just plugged them in and OSX recognized them. Then I did an a/b comparison to the Soundworks speakers and, well, there was no comparison.

I hope you score a freeby but your monthly credit card cycle still hasn't ended, right?

Anyway, how much are these Soundworks speakers you're using for comparison. I wasn't looking at these as high quality speakers, more like speakers that sound a lot better than PC speakers that come with mid level PCs.

Free shipping: Budget 14-21 days...

...and you conveniently ignored this to conclude that we weren't going to get them at all...

c'mon if you have some other info, then post it.

WinXP volume and mixer panel advanced properties include tone controls. The default seems to be bass and treble at minimum instead of the midpoint. Look for your tone controls before you give up on the Yamaha set.

These are some of the best speakers I've ever heard. Digital all the way to the box.

why would it take them a week or more just to get it in a box? and did you notice it now says "unavailable from manufacturer"?

i read the "14-21 days" but i still dont understand how it could ever take that long if the speakers are indeed in stock. we'll see i guess.

What does your order status say? (Mine says "On Order ")

The only way they can screw us is if they never carry these again but I take it they're not made any more so unless they have access to some old stock...

Let that be a lesson to you. Just kidding. But personally my experience with deals that are really hot, because of price mistakes, or free shipping included on heavier items, like this deal, it is better to just sit back and wait. Mine is still "sent to warehouse" and "on-order," so there is maybe a small hope it might come through. If I call and ask, chances are higher something bad, like order cancel will happen. With just waiting, I might slip through the cracks.

The key is to realize it is only $14 shipped! It isn't like you ordered a $60,000.00 Lexus and you are fretting about delivery and stuff. And just remember that virtually every online dealer has rules about cancelling price mistakes and orders for just about any reason. Read the fine print and you will realize that you don't have much of a legal leg to stand on and it is better to wait.

Got the unit couple weeks ago and just connected it last night. However, there is no control beside the volume, bass and treble from the speaker properties. I found it sounds better when I connect it with my SB live analog to the speakers. Is there any drivers out there for this speakers? I couldn't find it on yamaha's website though.
