Not a bad card for the price. And before someone says something about it, this is NOT the leafblower/ultra version. 17 in stock now.

XFX nVIDIA GeForce FX5800 Video Card, 128MB DDR, 256-Bit, TV-Out/DVI, 8X AGP Model "PVT30KNA" -RETAIL

but what does that mean for memory bus wise?

thanks... i already posted that but i guess it cant hurt to post it again.
im lookin for a $100 card and this seems to be a good one...i just dont get why the 5700 is more expensive and why newegg doesnt even have the fx5800 listed in the chipset pulldown menu.

BEcause this card was discontinued before it even really started selling. Due to the problems of it's big brother's fan and production issues/low yields. It also doesn't do well in antialiasing. These are very hard to find for sale anywhere at this point. Nvidia stopped selling so they could skip right to 5900 with 256 bit memory and easier cooling.

athlon64 3500+
2 gig pc3200
wd rapotor 35
wd 129 8mb 7200
antec lanboy
antec true 430
16cnex dual layer dvd

whats the first game i should hitr up?????

Nice find...too bad for me though, this deal/card would have been the perfect price/performance deal I was looking for 3-4 months ago:-( Looks like they throw in a game pad and some games too.

I kept looking for retail 5800 cards at pricewatch and never did see any for a decent price. I ended up buying 2 9800 Pros and 1 5900 NU for ~$178.00 each (i.e., I've got 3 PCs on a LAN to feed). A fellow can't wait forever for a "perfect" deal🙂

decent deal only because it's so cheap.

Newegg's description is wrong, probably because XFX's product page is wrong:
Performance

***GPU Frequency (MHz): 500***
Graphics Core: 256-bit
Memory Interface: 128MB DDR
***Memory Bandwidth (GB/sec): 25.6GB/second (effective) ***
Vertices/sec.: 200 million
Effective Memory Clock Rate (MHz): 800
RAMDACs (MHz) (each have 2 RAMDAC): 400

The card runs at 400MHz core and has 128-bit 800MHz memory (12.8GB/s bandwidth). In lower resolution (1024x768 and below), it has about the same performance as a 9700 Pro. In higher resolutions, it's much slower. It should be pretty overclockable like most 5800s were. It's pretty decent if you're not going to be gaming at higher than 1280x1024.

edit: i'm not going to buy one, but there's 9 left.

edit2: too bad I didn't see this 10 days ago: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISA...=1&ssPageName=WDVW 🙁 (PNY 5800 Ultra for less than $120 shipped)

this is a vicous cycle. One day you bought a card with a hot deal, the next day or next week a better card show up with better deal or smoking deal. Hot deals forum is like cocaine, one you are in, you done.
Thanks op btw.

Does anyone know if they made a silencer for this ? I saw one for 5900 xt.... mostly caring about fit and keeping within functional parameters. Would kinda make that they woulda or that it woul be officially compatible with 5900 one.

Agreed, I don't need this card, but I bought it to get a quick high.

darn you all!! I don't need this, but at the price i can't resist temptation any longer! This will be a nice upgrade for my second gaming computer. My ATI 9100 card is just getting too slow for most games. I'll sell that card now and only owe half for this new card!

🙂

Wow, all gone, i just ordered it, and like 5 minutes later it's all gone. Good thing i didn't pull one of my usual tactics of looking up benchmarks and thinking too long! LOL. Sorry you didn't get in Infernus.

Think 9700np. Thats about what its comparable to in speed terms. A VERY good price seeing how its priced at 9600p prices.

kids, the hot deals forum tastes just like it smells... delicious!!!!!

That's what happened to me! I looked around at the benchmarks this morning after thinking about it yesterday afternoon/night. Then right when I was about to order it, I see it had been sold out 🙁
