received my card today from dhl.

confirmed: DDR1 12pipes according to ATITOOL

dumb question, if i leave it on 24/7, can i underclock it so it wont run so hot? and waste less power??!?

got my card today, but after 2 "delivery attempts" (bastage never came out, never left any notice) so i had to pick it up today at DHL.. once again bastages!!
anyways, packing slip just shows ship date, waiting to print the invoice b4 i open it.. but I can't seem to go to the print invoice part.

well installed it and ran 3dmark05 scored a 3988 on athlon 64 3200
scored 3531 with 6600gt on same system.. no overclocking at all on cpu or vidcard.. and sucky ram running 2T 3,3,3s..

i'm not familiar with overclocking/flashing videocards at all but after searching a bit, it stated that the r430 core is a x800xl core? will we be able to flash it to x800xl? and after that we will know if we can enable the 4 pipes?

Since the board layout isn't standard for an X800, has anyone fit an aftermarket heatsink on this? If so, which one?

mines the same as everyone elses.

Opteron 144 @ 2.8ghz, 1gb 2-2-2-5 memory DFI Ultra-D
Stock score 3dM05 = 4058
Overclocked the X800 to 420/430 and got 4500 3dM05.

I pulled the stock cooler and used AS5. Dropped load temps from 68C to 58C. Suggested.

3DM05 has very little to do with CPU speed.

As far as I can tell it'll be impossible to flash this to X800XL and unlock 4 pipes.

anyone get any word on their rebates?

i sent mine like 3 weeks to a month ago and still not on rebateshq 🙁

think i'll use some AS next. got mine at 450/430. i don't think it started artifacting until 475/450, but i figure backing off a little can't hurt too much

I received a similar email as above, but clicked on the link and got the following:

Track Your Rebate
dots
Check Status of Rebate
Tracking Results: Status Details
Rebate: Variable Reward
Rebate Information For: XXXXXXXXXXX
Promotion: $75 Mail in Rebate with Purchase of VisionTek Xtasy Radeon X800 128MB DDR PCI Express at Dell
Submission Type: MAIL-IN
Date Received: 02-06-2006
Status Detail: Invalid.
Invalid Reason: Invalid Purchase Date

Rebate form says "Purchase must be made between 12/12/05 and 12/31/05". I've had forum members on this thread say that purchsing on 12/31 should be OK. But here's the deal - I actually purchased it at 11PM on 12/30, but the order acknowledgement emailed to me says "order placed 2005-12-31 05:51:35"! Does Dell go by GMT or something? ANyone else having this problem?

Thanks.

yeah, dell goes by GMT. it shouldn't matter, that's still within the rebate period

what they're trying to do is defraud you of your rebate. call them up and bitch. state that you have another copy of the invoice and it says right on it that it was purchased within the date range.

One more question... are there any ATI bioses that will work on this so that I can use the ATI-provided Catalyst drivers?

For those of you who had their rebate bogusly invalidated:

They are using RebatesHQ for processing their rebates. However, attempting to contact RebatesHQ.com via their "Contact Us" link is useless because their required Rebate for Manufacturer field does not include Visiontek as a choice (I tried selecting Visioneer as the closest match, but so far no reply).

Best bet is to contact a RebatesHQ customer service Rep at 1-888-221-4692, Opt 2, then Opt 6 (they don't give 6 as a option, but it works anyway). Some of the other phone numbers listed at the start of this thread for RebatesHQ are no longer in service or redirect to other numbers for non-Visiontek manufacturers. I got thru on this number and eventually they validated it. Said it will be another 6 weeks to get the rebate check.

RebatesHQ is the worst rebate center I've had to deal with so far...

I had the same problem with my rebate, they said it was invalid due to purchase date. Despite the fact that I ordered it on the right date. I called the number posted by Pieman and managed to get the guy to validate the rebate. IF you are having the same problem, do the same. He said 4-6 weeks then mailing time.

just got my email, says i'm good to go. they must have figured that with a certified mailing that i wasn't the guy to screw around with.

bummer! I called and they told me to wait another 1-2 weeks before they can verify whether they've received anything?!

Shouldn't they know by now if they've received my info. and verify that everything is ok?
